Ok, I'll have to jump in. To all those who argue about Superman melting the ring from a distance or blowing The Bat before he gets close I have this to say. Batman is way smarter than Supes and would have planned EVERYTHING in advance. Also have you noticed that Superman falls into every trap and someone else has to come and save him? On the other hand, whenever Batman falls into a trap he thinks his way out of it. So I think smarts would win over brute force. Batman has my vote. (Even though growing up I thought Superman was better, but as an older wiser person I can better appreciate the effort Batman put into becoming a hero)

I'm way smarter than Superman too, but he'd still kick my butt to the moon and back.
Knowing that Bats knows his weakness, the only way that Bats could win is if it were a sneak attack. Superman is naive, but he's not stupid...

I would argue that Superman is Smarter than Batman, or any other human b/c he has the ability to hold more info (ie super fast reading and being an alien) but the fact remains he always tries to avoid fighting, only as a last resort, while Batman thinks of 50 different ways a fight might turn out. That's why Batman would, in the end, always win.

See, the only argument for Batman is that he'd be well prepared...but that's only because most people aren't expecting to be attacked by Batman...being a ninja and all, he's always aunching sneak attacks that he's planned in advance. The problem is though, that that argument is basically saying that Batman would win in a fight because he'd sucker-punch Supes...which does not count as a fight!
Given equal opportunity to prepare, and given mutual awareness that there was going to be a fight, Batman would literally have no advantages. Supes could monitor Bats' wherabouts with x-ray vison, and avoid any of Bats' attempts at using Kryptonite. There's just no contest.

The Fortress of Solitude on the other hand, is totally badass, since it can do things that no human technology could wave a stick at. ...and just think...if you were on a date, would you rather take your girl to a place filled with guano, or to an ice castle where she can feel like a princess? Superman ftw on headquarters...

I remember an episode of Lois & Clark where Superman learns really advance fighting to been some fighting god with superpowers... so he might actually be a good fighter even without he's powers....!
