Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future

The mystery about Glau-terminator is interesting.. does she perhaps have some kinds of feelings for Connor? Or is she just the new Arnold?

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future

Im finding it quite easy to look past the unrealistic features and im quite enjoying this new series, well the first to episodes.

The most unreal thing for me, apart from the time travel, is how terminators in some instances are super strong and in other instances just normal humans. For example, pulling down a bank safe door takes massive strength, something capable of that power would have a massive mass. Cameron seems to be able to counter him well so we can come to the conclusion shes of similar strength, yet john and sarah managed to pick her up and chuck her out of a window, not to mention sarah hitting her in the face at the old mans house. Would be like hitting a steel girder, she would have broken every bone in her hand.

Anyway, its good tongue.

T strength is determined by a crude mathematical equation involving emotional impact on the audience vs poor, how-cool-would-this-be plotting, divided by we-think-our-audience-is-this-stupid, multiplied by who gives a fuck*... with a dash of pepper for taste...

* on the writer's part, that is... i don't love it or hate it...

it's a crude mathematical equation involving school holidays, shitty weather, being a single parent and a writer's strike leaving me to watch things i normally wouldn't, coupled with my usually under control post-modernist side forcing it's way to the surface tongue

bad mood? more like overly cynical tongue

... and to top things off, i just got back from the emergency room at the hospital where the 7 yo had to get 2 stitches after slicing the side of his wrist open... and now the poor boy is off to the dentist to have two teeth pulled so as to drain an abscess...

possibly, haven't heard the Bosnia reference before, and lol, yeah, greatest fear,  but i was going with the 'to hog, not let anybody else have any' definition... it's, in my understanding, a drug culture thing that has moved into popular slang... often used when smoking a joint, and one person 'bogarts' it... came about due to the fact that Humphrey Bogart always had a cigarette dangling from his mouth...

thanks for the definitions smile

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future

Summer is a goddess... though i don't particularly find her attractive... odd, yes... what i was impressed by was one of the bonus features on the Serenity dvd, where they show her training for the fight scenes, and because of her dance background, just how easily she picked it up, and the on the commentary where Joss is talking about  just how goddam awesome she is... that fight scene in the cantina is a jaw dropper...

loved her in the Angel episode too, cannae remember it's name, though it was a pretty weak episode, she rocked it big_smile

...and, honestly, Objects In Space would have to be one of the best episodes of anything, ever... i have that one permanently on the PSP... must have watched it a thousand times... smile

49

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future

The Angel episode is called Waiting wings or something like that...
I haven't seen the extras on the Serenity dvd, probably should do that...
Objects in Space is the one with the awesome bounty hunter right? I love that episode... in the ending, the bounty hunter floats away into space: -Well, here I am.

50

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future

ah, yeah... "waiting in the wings"... thanks, was driving me a little nutty, but not enough to make me dig out the dvd's and find out for myself...

"objects in space" is indeed the episode with early, the bounty hunter... visual poetry if ever i did see it...

and now it looks like i'm about to lose the next 12 hours doing a firefly/serenity marathon... big_smile [and in doing so will be pushing aside sweney todd... wtf???]

i'm going to eat your brains and gain your memories...
