Topic: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future
Rejoice sci-fi nerds. In the drought that is the writer's strike there is light at the end of the tunnel. It's more of a candle than an exit, but hell, any light would be good at this point. The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Terminator TV Show extraordinare) is starting next Sunday, January the 13th, on NBC. It was one of the more exciting leaked pilots we saw this summer and definitely has me cautiously optimistic. Let's hope for some good sci-fi and hot female robots btw, Santah wants to make a threesome with Will Smith and Shrek. Can anyone hook him up?

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future
It's official. The show is THE AWESOME. Please, please, please fox don't fuck this up. Watch the pre-air again, they changed some shit. There are at least 5 or 6 subplots we can theorize about. I really recommend it to the Heroes crowd. Anyone else - IF YOU DO NOT LIKE ROBOTS FROM THE FUTURE YOU MAKE BABY JESUS CRY. Hey, Santah, how about that store number?
ps: sorry for the imageshack link folks, photobucket is down, will move it later.

yea Arashi, I also noticed it. Kind of funny, but in the context of john and his uber-laptop-look-what-im-doing-on-the-big-screen-behind-me-thing I don't know what was leet in this scene. Nontheless, the show seems good and definitely worth a try. Summer Glau just rox. She's so psychotic.

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future
I did think the first two episodes were pretty good, it's just the fact of continuality, the dates don't add up from t2 and t3, and the terminator skull comes through the time portal, even though "nothing dead will go". But for not caring about the story as a whole the series seems like it could be pretty good. although apparently they have planned out 4 seasons, but i don't see how it could go on that far unless they make it as if t3 never happened.

Yay, it is good though! the terminator skull comes through the time portal, even though "nothing dead will go"
If this was the case then the terminators couldn't travel in time...

I just watched the first Terminator movie again, and they explain it... they're surrounded by living tissue, so they go. The skull wasn't, though, so hm. Minor point, that. I'm amazed at how many references they could stick in there. "Come with me if you want to live", and all that. Nicely done.

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future
never cared for the movies too much myself [still haven't seen the 3rd], but Summer was reason enough to make me sit down and watch the first episode... second one however had me dozing off, let's hope they pick the pace up a bit.... and PLEASE... don't start on mythology inconsistencies, or i'll have to drop this puppy like nothing else [and the 'come with me' line did evoke a smirk here ]
i'm going to eat your brains and gain your memories...

why don't they send money, superplasma-badass-BFGs, or antyhing else for that matter, surrounded in living tissue then ? T is full of shit on that end. But it's still good. @TC sorry

Does it say how the tissue is alive? Wouldn't it just shrivel and die? And in T2, the T-1000 (the bad guy) isn't really surrounded by anything... He's like liquid metal. Other than that little bit of a strech with the skull, it is a really good series so far. Must be weird going into the future and missing everything, 9/11, (small) mobile phones, Macs, iPods etc.

Re: Terminator - Official thread of Awesome and Robots from the Future
Yeah the skull thing bothered me too, but outside of the odd cheesy line in the pilot, so far this is shaping up really nicely, and I think Heady does a great job following on from the superb Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. Glau is interesting as the new Terminator, who seems to have secrets of her own, and Dekker is a mostly solid John Connor. I hope this show does well enough to stick around for a while, looking forward to the next episode.
