Topic: South Park

South Park is an animated series featuring four boys who live in the Colorado town of South Park, which is beset by frequent odd occurrences. The show grew out of short film that Trey Parker and Matt Stone created called The Spirit of Christmas.

Heh, I find it kind of amusing South Park hasn't had a modern updated forum post yet, and it's still on the old system. Thought I'd get it into the new format.

Last season was... Trump heavy. They didn't exactly do subtle either. Having Kristy Noem going on dog killing sprees, doing the same voice for Trump as Saddam Hussain (and making him have a relationship with Satan as they did Saddam), and the whole bit with JD Vance really really showed what they thought of the current administration.

I knew they'd avoid Trump this season, and they needed to. As much as I hate the man, and as much as they've bashed him, it does get tired when they put a whole season to it. Renaming the show to South America and putting that one bit in the episode where they interviewed a Trump supporter and talked about how they were sucking dick with the renaming shit was enough. The rest of the episode was devoted to the ridiculous E-Bikes that are out there kids are using. Speaking of, damn I wish those had been a thing when I was a kid.

I wish they'd still release as many as they used to... but you could tell that seasons 18-20 on rewatching that they're heart wasn't in it. If doing 6-8 episode seasons is what keeps it being funny and good, then so be it. Crazy how enduring South Park has been. It and the Simpsons just won't die.

I get the show's been on forever and that typically leads to paring down episode numbers. What I'd love to see is the return of the fireside chat intros.  The early seasons of SP had skits with Matt and Trey talking to the camera and sort of foreshadowing what the episode would be about.

Uh, no they didn't. That was an extra on the DVD that was encoded into the torrent. That definitely wasn't ever aired on Comedy Central back in the day.

i hated those with a passion. what a waste of space on the dvd.
i swear i saw a few of those on a special or two on tv... but i could also be hallucinating that.
south park is always better when you are working at killing brain cells.

I would make Donald a permanent character here. And draw him in a diaper. It's basically the most easy to write character ever, just open Truth Social and check what lake he renamed today, what country will be the 51st state, what news outlet is fake news because did not like his gold plated ballroom project, on what now he wants to print his face etcccccccccccccccccccccccc.

Can make one episode how Donald goes to Moscow to stop the war in 24h and after a wild night out accidently wakes up with Vladimir in the bed. There is an endless material. And even more from support characters like Patel, Hegseth, Tulsi and the list goes on.

P.S. Kristy also posted dog shooting story herself on Twitter, so - based on a true story, lol.

Eh, the guy is an easy target. He's a complete joke of a human being and hundreds of pieces of media have been making fun of him going back to the 80s.

South Park has always been more pop cult references, I'm fine with them doing Trump every other season, or just mixing in a jab or two, it gets tired after a while.

The entire administration is good for it, they should do one of the head of the FBI, who's been publicly drunk at several football games and a dog show last week. Or how his girlfriend used the FBI forensics plane, a plane loaded with specialty forensics gear that needs to be deployed rapidly at times for her personal flights, and in so doing interfered with an ongoing investigation. But that's every member of his cabinet at this point.

I'm actually very cool with them not making it all about him, I swear he gets off on any attention at this point.

I'm old enough to vividly remember waiting for all of SP season 1,2,3 to air episode by episode by a kid, and I bought the DVDs. Trust me on this. Those 'campfire' discussions were DVD extras, that definitely was NOT aired on comedy central. Unless they did it way later on as reruns.

I have not seen much of it, but I think they have mocked a lot of political stuff also in the past, Obama and Hilary for sure were featured before. And that's the right way, make fun of stupidity, regardless where it comes from.

And, yes, Patel with his short lived podcaster/youtuber deputy (what an epic FBI management, haha) would be great.

I've watched the show pretty religiously my whole life. Sure Barrack and Hillary were in it and sure they were made fun of a bit. But Hillary's episode was the snuke episode and that was primarily making fun of the TV show 24. Barrack was in an episode primarily making fun of Tiger Woods, he himself wasn't under attack.

What they've done with Trump is pretty unique for the show, they've devoted 2 entire seasons, 1 during his first administration, and again during this second admin. They've never done that before.

I personally love that they made the episode, 'With apologies to Al Gore' where they admitted they were wrong on climate change, and said in interviews they regret saying it wasn't real. That really earned them my respect, someone that can publicly admit they're wrong is someone who has tegridy.

Second episode. Eh. Amusing but definitely anything but subtle.
