Topic: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Stuart fails to save the Universe
Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from The Big Bang Theory. As the title implies, things don’t go well.
We had Young Sheldon and still have Georgie and Mandys First Marriage - but honestly, this might be the one that encapsulates the spirit of The Big Bang Theory the most. Trailer out now - see show page. Can't wait

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
I'll give it one season because... well... that's all this is going to get. 1 streamer season of 8-10 shows. It will have a nostalgia factor for Big Bang Theory fans. Then that will wear off. I don't expect to see it renewed *UNLESS* then filmed seasons 1 and 2 at the same time just like a lot of shows do to keep down costs and logistics. I mean if Star Fleet Academy isn't going to get their second season because they did that ANYONE can. More light hearted than "Dark Matter (2024)" so a lot more like "Sliders (1995)" where it can just be campy fun. One thing it will do is raise the bar on expectations. The effects on this look to be on par with the last two seasons of Fallout. This is going to show the entire audience world that even a cheap little comedy can do this level of SFX. So if Fallout season 3 and other big budget productions don't step up then fans are going to notice.

I thought the same about Young Sheldon, and then there were 7 seasons

Did Young Sheldon actually end up being any good? I watched the first season but wasnt too impressed.

I enjoyed the earlier seasons. Towards the end it became more and more a "modern comedy" where a great focus is going into dramatization...still finished it and thought it was worthwhile.

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
The premise of this is ridiculous. The Big Bang Theory really jumped the shark when they sent Howard to space. But them inventing a Time Machine? Idk this just seems silly to me.

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
I'm guessing that's the point: To be over the top ridiculous. I mean... Sliders wasn't exactly 'hard sci-fi' accurate either and was good for its first 4-5 seasons too. Fallout was kinda ridiculous with giant catfish with fingers for teeth, but that didn't stop it from being a fun watch for a season or two.

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Seems like this has some Future Man vibes? No idea who thought this might be a good idea, much less why they greenlit it, but apparently it'll be an HBO project (the other shows are all CBS), and their shows tend to at least have a decent production value behind them so... we'll see?

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Everything about The Big Bang Theory is ridiculous, might as well break the universe a bit. I think it's not about time travel, but multiverse stuff.

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
yeah, it can't be about time travel because that was one of the key underpinnings of the room mate agreement, they had to return to the apartment on that exact moment if either of them invented time travel.

Howard in space was only "funny" ridiculous but that was the point - job-wise he is an aerospace engineer at Cal-tech, so becoming an astronaut made perfect sense to me. But speaking of ridiculous....a single, hot, waitress/actress moves in alone into an apartment across from some nerds who then become best friends, falls in love with one of them and marries him However big the inclusion of Time Travel or a Time Machine is...as long as every reference to the original show is accurate and falls into continuity I am happy with whatever they come up with. And I want to see the time machine from the movie The Time machine again imadsani wrote:yeah, it can't be about time travel because that was one of the key underpinnings of the room mate agreement, they had to return to the apartment on that exact moment if either of them invented time travel.
Hehe, but I don't think Stuart or one of the others ever signed that agreement

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Well, the first episode would have been improved by spending 20 bux on the wormhole in the Comic Shop rather than the 10 bux they did...

Gosh, I bet this is a super terrific happy half hour . . . if you're 10 years old. On second thought, better make that 8 years old.

You expected a Schindler's List with 7 Oscars from an extension of 4 nerds universe where was stuff like relationship agreement, Fun With Flags show, plans in case of a zombie apocalypse and a lot more. Can it be that this is a you problem?

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
I really hope that these guest appearances are recurring and not one-offs...would be a shame otherwise - especially with Episode 2's

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Episode two wasn't great, but it was a substantial improvement over episode one. I was planning on dropping it, but now I'm going to give it at least two more episodes.

Re: Stuart fails to save the Universe
Sounds like the same complaint people had with 'Murderbot', wanting more content each episode. 21 minutes is a 30 min show minus the commercials so its almost like it was created with the option to put it broadcast TV everyone's talking about the return of Penny and Zak but I saw several other faces so that's cool. And since there's several universes we could continue to see each of those other people in other 'modes' too. Kinda seems like the two guys in the comic shop are going to be a running gag for example.
