Margo's Got Money Troubles

Follow Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler. Now an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo is struggling to make ends meet, leading her to launch an OnlyFans account. When her father reenters her life, she starts incorporating his lessons from the pro wrestling world into her OnlyFans work, leading to unexpected success.

First episode looks promising. Although it's only the prequel to what is in the show description.

I think this could be considered a modern day version of The Client List.
The show also has a pretty major cast, with Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offermann, Elle Fanning and Greg Kinnear.
Elle Fanning's character is pretty similar to her character in The Great which I consider also a plus.

I will say though that I have the impression the target audience for this show are most likely women in particular. But also a good watch for men.

Gonna keep watching for now smile

Modern day? The Client List is 10 years old show, not past century. More like a marginal version.

P.S. OnlyFans also was launched in 2016, but before that for minimum already some 20 years were countless similar streaming services, the only thing that has changed (became more modern) is internet speed. The Client List genre also is alive, well and going strong. And probably will forever smile

I guess I meant back than no one would've made a show about a streaming site as a theme and nowadays no one would really make a show about "just a happy ending".

They easy could do that also a decade ago. Maybe the diff is that now it's a bit more mainstream. But how they are portraying it still is a marginal bs. Source: I build internet and am aware of things smile

We haven't watched it - but wife sent me a link and said "Its a comedy with a good cast, what do you think for casual lunch time viewing". She didn't read the description or watch the trailer.  I only got as far as reading the description.

And immediately thought: WTF?  That's really the premise of the show?!  Father helps daughter be a successful prostitute?  Sounds like something Hollyweird would do, targeting the pedocrates as their viewing audience.

If I read that description on a court document, or even a newspaper then 'disgust' is the only thing that would come to mind.

Have they actually managed to make that premise into a workable comedy or is it as cringe as the description sounds?

Hmm...I didn't read the description like that at all smile

It says "she" incorporates "his" work into her own basically. It doesn't even mention if he knows about what she is doing.

As of EP02 they still haven't gotten to that part, so not sure to what extend her OF will be (guessing pretty mild, that's where the wrestling moves will come in).

If you or your wife are looking for a comedy...this is not it - it's 90% drama and 10% sarcasm. But again, it is definitely more targeted at woman, so maybe your wife will see the humour that I don't smile

As for EP02

The grandma makes no sense to me, I get the part where "jut because you raised a child once, doesn't mean you can do it again" part - but she looks like well off, couldn't Margo move in with her or at least let her give some financial support?

You see Michelle Pfeiffer and Elle Fanning, and their performances are good - but then you get Nick Offerman, a whole other level smile
