When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbor Sarah Tucker becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm. Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals that people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.

Will check it out, I liked the trailer. Quite a few well-known cast members!

Well done! I enjoyed it, even got some unexpected https://next-episode.net/utopia vibes, mostly (but not only) because of another great Adeel Akhtar performance. smile

There were more comedic elements than expected, but quite low-level, not distracting from the story.

Spoiler

This looked like a continuity goof to me: when their Ferrari-driving visitor left the flat, nobody was locking the door... but a few seconds later, she had to unlock the door before she could open it.

All in all... good show so far. Recommended!

Trailer had me hooked with the line "We can zoom in with our eyes" smile

Gonna give it a go tomorrow.

Deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

Re: Down Cemetery Road [Thriller]

Yep, first episode was good.

Liked the pace, the detective duo and especially the metaphors from C. smile

It was also a great introduction into the world. At the end of the first episode you know all major players, their roles and roughly what's going on (to the extend of wanting more). Missed this with many shows lately.

And the best part is

Spoiler

with the trailer and the death of Joe you know that a shift in storytelling is coming. And if you liked the trailer you gonna also like the shift. Very well done indeed.

I've also thought about this while watching it. smile On the one hand it's nice to have everybody introduced, but not introducing everybody right away leaves more room for contemplation: who's behind XYZ, what are the motives, etc.

Ha! I had totally forgotten that Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (who plays a vital role here) was also in Utopia! big_smile
