Topic: Sheriff Country
Sheriff Country focuses on straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire's division chief Sharon Leone, who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
First episode felt a bit underwhelming, but I do see potential in the show.
Characters are ok. With Morena Baccarin, Christopher Gorham and Caroline Rhea we do have some good TV veterans in the mix.
The worldbuilding... looks average for this kind of show... when the story needs it the Sheriff knows everyone by name except the next suspect (or victim). That is also seen in the police force who's size grows depending on the story or scene....which I always find a bit annoying.
As always there is a good amount of family drama which isn't over the top but adds well to the story.
The case was pretty good, it got a lot more serious than I was expecting. But it was well balanced.
It is labeled a Pilot, so hopefully episode two brings some improvement.
