Re: preairs are in the air ...
how lame is lipstick jungle .... jrgs .... no need to watch it's lamer than lame .... and sooo bad acting ....doublejrgs .....
Re: preairs are in the air ...
and the Reaper pre-air is not the final version... usual cast changes, reshoot stuff going on... i'm going to wait for the final when it airs
Re: preairs are in the air ...
stop teasing I'm just downloading right now.
I have to admit I kinda feel for those showtime execs and the horror they must be going through. I think it's a great idea to put up pilots on the net, that way you can create a buzz before the show starts and for us it's great that we can decide early what to watch and what not (before the havoc of the season begins), but it also kinda sucks. Of course I'm dl weeds now, but it would have started in a week or so anyways...
ad pushing daisies: The trailer made me not want to watch, and then I did watch the pilot and yay! I might really love this show... I can be more elaborate than this, i.e. on my blog
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Here's another one for you to add Daluwe
Cane
Jimmy Smits stars as Alex Vega in a multi-generational drama that delves into a Cuban-American family and exposes the changes the American Dream has taken on -- past, present, and future. The story follows a rivalry between two families, the Vegas and Duques, who built successful sugar and rum industries.
Re: preairs are in the air ...
thanx draiz, i added it at the front. have you watched it yet? i've stumbled over it today at the mininova, but when i read the reviews, they were all so bad, that i thought, no use to watch.
anyone seen the big bang theory? that sheldon dude was pretty funny. pilots are always especially hard for sitcoms. it wasn't really that great, but i'll keep watching ...
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Nope I haven't gotten around to watching Cane yet but I must have read the same reviews you have and I decided to leave it for a latter time when I have nothing else to watch....
As for the big bang theory, I watched it yesterday and I thought they overdid the geek thing... I wasn't that good but it may get better over time. I'll give it another shot when they release the second ep.

Re: preairs are in the air ...
ive just watched caveman and cane...caveman i thought was a load of rubbish but thats my opinion, im sure someone will like it...cane i thought was good and look forward to the rest of the series...
i also watched californication last night and thought it wasnt bad, i think its going to be one of those you either love it or loathe it types so will have to see what the rest of the series is like...
reaper isnt that bad either, another love it or loathe it types so will see what the rest of the series is like...
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Haha - Chuck is fun. That's a keeper for at least some eps.
How funny is that - a guy from the nerd herd at Buy More gets between CIA and NSA stuff. That show has some serious funny potential.
Oh and btw Yvonne Strzechowski is really eye candy
(The linked torrent has some sync issues but it's very watchable)

Pushing Daisies is presented as a colorful fairytale. I can't say thats good or bad but I have a mixed feeling about this one. I really don't know if the writers can come up with a well written story for a whole season. Maybe this one would be better as a feature movie for 90 minutes only
Re: preairs are in the air ...
I agree with pushing daisies... it is bound to fade from the feel it gives so far. I dont have faith in the writers to last with this plot
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Californication - nicceeee. Pushing Daisies - not that much.
I will try Chuck tonight after reading BB's post

Re: preairs are in the air ...
Today I did some short - 20 min - preairs.
Aliens In America is a teenage highschool series which features a Pakistani as an exchange student. Nice idea but not that interesting to watch all sorts of prejudice against foreigners, although they try to make it funny. IMHO not a keeper.
The Big Bang Theory is a sitcom like friends but with nerds. The very first impression was boring but after 10 minutes I really think this show has some easy going funny potential. That show is watchable once a week while you could miss the one or other ep I guess. This could be a keeper at least to fill some spare time.
Some more to come...
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Cane is the soapiest soap of all soaps... about sugar...Two families quarreling. I'm afraid if I continue watching it, it just may become addictive. So I think I'll stay away while it doesn't interest me.
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Today I did some supposed girly shows:
Right at the beginning of Californication David Duchovny makes it very clear that his old Mulder image is over - nicely done
The show is interesting with lots of nude scenes. I don't know if this gets aired the way it is, that's fancy but also risky for an US show. Besides that the show has serious family drama potential. I like it
Next on the list was Lipstick Jungle. I didn't expect much and was totally surprised that this show was really good. It's at least the next Sex and the City meets The First Wives Club. It's witty done with the sense of humor used in Desperate Housewives.
Both shows are keeper if you like those genres. And my watchlist keeps growing
Re: preairs are in the air ...
well tastes are different, that's for sure. i haven't seen lipstick jungle yet but the trailer told me "do not enter, move along"
caveman: no no no what is that
mad men: after watching the pilot i wanted to start smoking but besides that it's an ok show so far
greek: middle class show, but it's watchable
damages: hmmm not quite sure what to think of this one, but it diden't capture my interest that much
cane: not bad for a soap but not my thing anyway
Re: preairs are in the air ...
So I finally made it through all preairs:
I don't consider Cane as a soap, it's more the kick-off of a great series. It has really huge potential has a great cast and is written nicely. I like it but it might not find a way into my overcrowded watchlist
Saving Grace is also nicely done and Holly Hunter's acting is superb. But I don't like those I'm-bad-god-help-me-please shows. The plot lacks uniqueness and we don't need just another police drama crime solving series
So here's my list - best first - worst last:
01 - Bionic Woman
02 - The Sarah Connor Chronicles
03 - Chuck
04 - Californication
05 - Lipstick Jungle
06 - Cane
07 - The Big Bang Theory
08 - Pushing Daisies
09 - Reaper
10 - Saving Grace
11 - Aliens In America
12 - Cavemen
The first 5 will probably find there way into my watchlist for the next season
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Pushing daisies was the best of the pilots by far. It reminded me a lot of Amelie with the narration and direction. Just have to hope that it lasts.
As for the others, Californication was good and Weeds was top notch as usual.
Re: preairs are in the air ...
Pushing Daisies is fantastic, Amelie meets Lemony Snicket - and Anna Friel is simply gorgeous.
Aliens in America was ok, Big Bang Theory would be better without the super-heavy laughter track.
Californication is great! David Duchovny has been one of my favourites since Evolution

Re: preairs are in the air ...
Okay, there is finally some good news on the Cavemen front. Apparently ABC has been paying very close attention to feedback on the pilot following it's "leak" online and are making some drastic changes to the show, including some recasting and shooting a new pilot.
Hopefully, they will take some of the critique to heart and actually make the new version of the show, funny.
We'll see soon enough, I supposed. In the meantime, I hope the new pilot "leaks" as well.
