Hah, yeah, that one definitely. Looks like you are the first person to ever even mention it here in all the years this place has existed.

The first Librarian movie was made around the time they had just released the first Tomb Raider one, so that may have been a closer inspiration? Those games then were almost certainly inspired by IJ to some extent, which in turn was probably made to resemble the various jungle (and Egypt) adventure/mystery type movies from decades earlier, which then were stylistically based on written stories from the time Europe was all the way into colonization, and so on... ah well. That's probably far enough off topic.

Season 2 was already in the works before Season 1 even aired. So they practically had to release it.
Guess though that will be the last we see of this show.

Always enjoyed this show. Will watch it just for the nostalgia of it.

Second season is quite a bit better than the first. Still visibly struggling against what appears to be a nonexistent budget, but they seem to have gotten the hang of it. Clearly headed in a different direction than the first show though.

it is really too bad that none of the tv shows came close to the movies.

i could not watch the first season on this reboot.
maybe i will try the second if they fixed it up

pirates were the first democratic organizations in the new world
and the first organizations where women could lead men

I keep getting the feeling that this show was written for 10 and under. But I still watch it. It amuses me.

i thought the movies were disney style pre/ grade school Indiana Jones but very entertaining over all.

its best not to say what education level i thought the first tv series was targeted at.

this first season i thought it was for pot heads and drunk frat boys still trying to tap a keg without tools.

i am not saying there was not entertainment value. but the mystery/mythological/ magic aspects were sub sub sub grade.
and the writing matched. some of the actors were good. i would not say no to the money. but i would be embarrassed to have anyone see me saying some of the lines and plot ideas

Now that i think about it, the closest thing this show reminds me of is actually Doctor Who. Specifically, the original 1963 to 1989 one.
