The opposite is true: young children find nothing repulsive, it's a matter of societal and/or parental training. Every time you see something repulsive, know that you've been trained. Good boy!

Re: The Last of Us 1x3 - gay couple discussion thread
Read this thread so annoyingly knew the gay kiss was coming so no shock value there. Big deal anyway. What an episode. If it were a standalone 75-minute film there'd surely be an Oscar in it for Ron Swanson ffs. That's as good as telly gets, MORANS. If you can't see past a few seconds of blokes kissing and instead throw all the toys out of the bassinet and go scorched earth on the show and the game and your mummy and your daddy and the whole wretched world then, really, you literally only have yourself to blame.

if you like this show move here - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl … ne-Us.html Inside one of UK's most neglected streets: Riddled with giant potholes, plagued by crime and littered with fly-tipping, the Birmingham road locals say is like scene from post-apocalyptic TV drama 'The Last of Us’

Difficult to agree with that point of view. As an example: I don't think you can train a child to get repulsed by killing animals. It usually start out that way. It's more like you get repulsed by killing animals the first times, or see them get killed. But if you are working on a slaughterhouse or on a farm, you get hardened and immune over time. I guess the same would apply to wars. So following my own logic we should be immune to modern TV by now. Damn.

Maybe you have a point there. I don't know how children growing up in some rainforest react when they witness a chicken being butchered for the first time. But I know that they are using a machete at two years old, that's impressive. Moze wrote:So following my own logic we should be immune to modern TV by now. Damn.

I much appreciate this thread. So thanks @g371. I have now dropped this show before reaching the third episode. And this is not because I have any issues with gays, I couldn’t care less. But as I have mentioned plenty, I have an issue with the woke agenda, The force-feeding of that agenda and the attempt at politicising almost every form of entertainment. I will continue dropping things that force any form of woke agenda, even if it means I have nothing left to watch.

Out of curiosity, why is Modern Family on your watchlist? You know there are gay people in that too, right?

But if Bill and Frank are gay in the game, isn't it fine for them to be gay in the TV show based on the game? Surely if they were straight in the TV show people would moan about that too.

Re: The Last of Us 1x3 - gay couple discussion thread
I will begrudgingly add my 2 cents here...I am not right wing, but I understand some of the frustrations with a forced type story line which seems to permeate most tv shows as of late. I like scifi, action and other types of shows, I do not like watching Discovery channel programs which show surgeries being performed, I am not anti surgery, I would get surgery if ever needed, I encourage others to get surgery if needed ,I just find no entertainment value in watching them for me. I am not anti surgery...but I like what I like, it is escapism for me.

Re: The Last of Us 1x3 - gay couple discussion thread
I love the show and I loved the episode. This was the talk during out breaks at work today, everyone had seen the show and was raving about it - it's rare to see my coworkers agree on something so much. Then again, I'm a gay man living in Sweden, where just happening being gay is considered a normal way of life and not considered being part of a "woke agenda," so I guess that kinda helps, too... Call me crazy, but I also believe the world is round and I believe in the vaccination against covid. I know, I know. I'm a liberal snowflake.

Exactly. This is the issue and more people should be worried about that. The propaganda and conditioning, it is so excessive in the "west" these days. Not only about gay stuff but several different topics, our so-called "values." Gays, diversity, climate, racism, feminism, hate speech, vaccines/covid and whatever other topics they force a certain common agenda down our throats on. Recently it has mostly been about Russia and Ukraine. It is dangerous, fanatical and totalitarian, it is also the type of thing they (western societies) themselves used to warn us about just a few decades ago that we should be wary about. Also notice how ALL the critics comes out and thinks any tv-show or movie is the BEST EVER as soon as it has something like this. They do not care about the show, the story, the acting, the production values. Not one single bit. ONLY the propaganda. If something contains propaganda, it is amazing art according to these people. Even the artsy fartsy critics who usually would think zombie shows is just trash tv, all of a sudden thinks this is fine art. This totalitarian thought conditioning to create a hive mind is dangerous and disgusting. We can clearly see it when they use it for rabble rousing, they can get the masses to quickly unite over anything and feel however they tell them too feel about it. They have already managed to make it so that a majority of people now seems to think think that censorship is a good thing, as to "not hurt anybodys feelings."

Re: The Last of Us 1x3 - gay couple discussion thread
And there we go. We have reached new world order conspiracies.. AGENDAS! IT ALL AGENDAS!!! AND THOUGHT CONTROL! AND PROPAGANDA! I think we just have to accept some people just can’t see anyone even slightly different from them as people with equal right to exist. Some people even see a gay relationship as hard core deviant porn and not just a normal relationship between two people. There is no reaching these people.

Clearly you didnt understand my post - I explicitly said that i dont have any issues with gays in and out of TV - I have an issue with force-feeding of a woke agenda, which is so prominent in nowadays entertainment. If you have ever seen any of the (earlier) seasons of Modern Family then you would know that it was part of the story line and added to the brilliant humor (i never saw the last few seasons so i dont know if that changed)

At what point did you understand that anyone here has an issues with gays or gays being on the TV? Your response illustrates how if a difference of opinions is given over or if we have a different point of view that we are bigots and homophobe. I will state clearly and you can chose to accept it or not, you can even try again to warp my words again - but thats your choice. I do not have an issue with gays. I do not have an issues with gays being on TV (see my previous post about modern family). I believe that most (if not all) people who have posted against episode 3 share the same view. again, I (we?) have an issue with the woke agenda, the force-feeding of that agenda and the attempt at politicizing almost every form of entertainment. This is clearly apparent in episode 3 and unfortunately in mainstream entertainment.

In what way does EP3 of this show demonstrate "politicizing"? It's a episode that features a gay couple; how is that "political"? Or are you suggesting that a gay relationship should never be depicted on TV?

Then explain what this woke agenda is and how ep3 is different from Modern Family. To me they are just two gay relationships, but you clearly see a difference and I’d like to know what it is. What is the woke agenda and how can I spot it?

You could argue that making an filler episode focus on gay romance for 1h20m, while the character in the game was not note worthy and the fact he could be gay was not mentioned, but rather vaguely hinted. Something... Is it woke agenda? Who knows, judge for yourselves.

But what is the woke agenda? People keep referencing it but nobody seems to able to define. Or it’s goals. Or who is doing it. Or why. To me a very touching episode in a drama series doesn’t feel like something I define as ”agenda” of any sort
