Jason Segel as a therapist who tells his patients exactly what he thinks. Ted Lasso co-creator Bill Lawrence and star Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent in the popular comedy series, will write and produce the new show alongside Segel.

1x1 wasn't as funny as I expected but good enough to continue. smile

I got some https://next-episode.net/ted-lasso vibes.

This show's great!  Jason Segel's awesome.  Reminded of Marshmallow and Lilypad, and how I miss those days.

A solid 7/10.

Why does the genre say Horror? I was expecting some weird twist like actual shrinking (of size), but it's just a dramedy show.

Re: Shrinking [Comedy]

A therapist who loses it and just tells his patients exactly what he thinks, hilarious...

Spoiler

...Sean has an anger problem and likes to beat people up, Jimmy's solution, mixed martial arts, big_smile, done.  The father daughter dynamic between Jimmy and Alice is well written, both giving each other the silent treatment for different reasons.  Even that awkward confrontation Gaby had with Liz about giving Jimmy space, was really well written and performed.  Jimmy and his best friend Brian, had the talk, "you're too happy and wouldn't let me be miserable", that's a great relationship dynamic to write about.  Harrison Ford is more of a celebrity guest appearance, but always a fun grouchy old man to have around, provides balance.

...whether this goes anywhere, no idea, but it's so clever and fun.

@g371  Jason Segel's not funny?  Pretty sure that was Josh Radnor, not Jason Segel, but to each their own.

I laugh every time I watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfpLy_zqwGk

Both of them are not funny. In that show only Neil Patrick Harris was doing good, the rest had their moments like once every 10 episodes.

I just finished season 1. Not bad, but I had hoped it would be even better.

Enjoying season 2 so far, not surprised it's #1 at the moment on Apple TV+, the cast has great chemistry.

Just binged the two seasons, I really liked it.  Lots of laughs.

DRM "manages access" in the same way that Prison "manages freedom".

Re: Shrinking [Comedy]

s01 is pretty good.
i find the comady muted a bit. but still good, better then mindless situational comady.
harrison ford really dominates every scene he is in.
every actor does a fantastic job.

the only real downside is that the show is very predictable
and its not always a downside honestly
as they never do anything outlandish or crazy like so many shows do.
no mindless or useless detours or side stories

episodes are about 30 mins but feel longer in a good way
like you saw something happen, not much wasted time, good solid story.

s02 was a little more preachy then i expected. less of everything s01 was.
christina miller is playing Jordan Sullivan from scrubs in witness protection
( it really seems that way, and i love it)

they really lost a chance to take the show up a few notches with the last minute save in the last episode
( we all new what was going to happen for most of the season)
they missed out by not following a realistic story arc, that could have
taken the show to new highs and lows for every character in it.

but that would have been risky for this middle of the road muddle of a show.
and they did not take the risky option after "boop" at the end of season 1

ill binge s03 when its time

Re: Shrinking [Comedy]

the season trilogy is over with season 3 done
over all it was quite good.

it was been renewed for season4
but season 4 will be the same cast
with all new characters and a new story.

which i look forward to.
mostly for Harrison ford
but every one else did a great job also
