The trailer looks awesome! I'm not regretting having added this show to my list the minute I heard about it.

I added based on the homepage description then rethought a bit when I saw the Westworld creators bit above. But then again I did really like s1 of Westworld so will give it a spin.

Re: The Peripheral [Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller] (Chloë Grace Moretz)
So good! Added. +1 Really enjoy the premise. 102 was even better than 101. Kinda like Counterpart crossed with Westworld. ▼Spoiler So many genre's: Time travel, Video Games (RPG / FPS), Mystery, Thriller, Drama, Scifi, ensemble cast, multiple locations (Midwest USA & England). So is a stubb, a transitional timeline created when a connection with the past or future is made? Reminded me of when Doc Brown was explaining this to Marty.
Also, I enjoy Connor's lines: "You're little sister said I should stop by for a beer, she ain't say nothing about you throwing such a fun party though."

I found it rather trite. I'd have dropped already but giving a longer leash since based on a William Gibson book.

But aren't you on like season 3 of Stargirl? Any thoughts on my spoiler question...

Yes, 'rather trite' is pretty low on the scale compared to cw shows. But those I'm compelled to watch b/c I'm insane. This I can actually drop if I want.
▼Spoiler I stopped trying to keep up with the particularities of time-travel explanations long ago. I find that generally the less I think about them the less annoyed I am.

Ha. That explains a lot, lolz, you'd have to be insane, everything on the CW is unwatchable. ▼Spoiler If you hate tracking timelines, you should definitely watch the movie PRIMER.
 The craziest timelines ever:
Primer timeline explained I would love it if The Peripheral went this way!

Enjoyed 1x1! After the animated intro, it took me less than 30 seconds to be sure the show wouldn't disappoint. The music and filming... I can't pinpoint it exactly, but I got Westworld vibes again and again. paisley1 wrote:mrverene wrote:I found it rather trite.

It's not for me unfortunately, I was looking forward to it as I enjoy Westworld. I got half way through episode 1 and got bored and thought why am I wasting my time and have now dropped it. YMMV.

Watched 1x2 and enjoyed it too! Such a good show. Currently 8.5/10 @ IMDb, which is roughly what I'd rate it. colinsp wrote:It's not for me unfortunately, I was looking forward to it as I enjoy Westworld. You gave up too quickly IMHO, but everyone has to decide when to make such a decision.

Agreed, I wasn't sure after ep1, but the start of ep2 was epic. It also explained a lot more of what is going on.

I also found ep 2 a breakthrough in the story line. Now I'm hooked.

I didn't mind the first ep, the second one started to get into the standard Nolan over-complicated mess and I got a bit bored.

1x4: Great, finally we learn more about the future's past. I enjoyed the 'museum' visuals at the end.

Totally! Very cool show. I kinda find that... ▼Spoiler ...Cherise, is a bit too Dr. Claw, like, she's a super villain to the point of being ridiculous.
I suppose that's one of the angles the writers have come up with in the design of the show, where Flynne starts out by thinking she's just in a video game, Cherise kinda acts like an over the top video game villain. Another angle they've played into, is that the underdog always wins, for example, Burton's team taking out the guys from the future, and the 3D print guys out hacking the guy from the future (hilarious, ), and Connor (a one armed man) taking on a gang, etc, and I suspect they'll try to hide these themes or at least be sneaky about them as they placate the audience. The Jackpot of 3 catastrophes, electrical blackout, incurable pandemic, drought/famine/environmental catastrophe, all playing into current mass hysteria's, was more than a little bit 'on the nose' and smacks of playing to mass appeal, but the story is so engaging that I don't mind being placated, lolz. Two brother-sister stories playing out at the same time, hmmmm, I wonder why???
Also, Flynne's seizure's, clearly an effect of being shot repeatedly by that energy weapon in future, no?

The Jackpot is the most plausible part of the whole story - fucked up the planet, still learned nothing

I really like this show! 1x6:
▼Spoiler Serving Mr. psycho killer your home-made roast... Fun! Introducing the shock collar around his neck to him shortly after... Even more fun! ▼Spoiler Letting Mr. psycho killer come so close to the shock collar remote... Stupid!
