I'm thrilled when I have an empty day or two and can work on the infinite backlog. My favorite currently running is The Old Man. Recents I've liked include Slow Horses, The Offer, The Lazarus Project, Winning Time, Pistol, and The Undeclared War. 4 2022-07-18 03:32:43 (edited by LuC 2022-07-18 04:54:26)Re: I am lacking showsThere's this new show, Moonhaven, which I started just a few days ago. I watched all three episodes that have aired now I have to wait. If you don't mind reading subtitles there are lots of good Korean dramas (aka Kdramas) to watch, 100 Days My Prince probably my favorite (fun), but there are more. I prefer period dramas to anything modern though I've watched two that had a mix (time traveling) like Rooftop Prince, also enjoyable. There are websites like myasiantvdotcc and actually quite a few more (which I have to locate for some rare titles) that just provide Asian (South Korean) dramas. I'm working on Emperor Of The Sea right now. I can't say it's my favorite but I am glued to the end. One thing I love about these is that they have a conclusion, they don't just end leaving you hanging. Re: I am lacking showsDuplicat wrote:
I'm rewatching Banshee, Fringe and Lucifer atm. Coppers was a good one too, I'll have to add it to my rewatch list. Re: I am lacking showsIt's not a show but I'm watching a movie on Amazon called Legend of the Naga Pearls. It's pretty engaging so far. Re: I am lacking showsdominar wrote:

I enjoyed it too. 11 2022-07-19 18:50:26 (edited by merc 2022-07-19 18:58:47)Re: I am lacking showslook on Youtube for the old Flash Gordon shows with Buster Crabbe . Flash Gordon and the purple death was on tv recently and was suprisingly well made, given the age of the show ( 1940s) & the spaceships and costumes are a hoot 12 2022-07-19 19:51:36 (edited by santah 2022-07-20 04:55:53)Re: I am lacking showsYou might like this movie too. I did when I watched it. Life is beautiful / La vita è bella (1997) film [link removed by admin, please no links to illegal movie sites] This is the only version I like with the English dubbing. It does not at all work with subtitles over the original Italian. This comes off beautifully. Re: I am lacking showsLuC wrote:
I don't really get what you're saying about the subtitles, but I agree, it's a great film. 2020. Meh.
Re: I am lacking showsgraybags wrote:
Well, there's just a lot of spirit in the dubbed voices. When I watched a clip with only subtitles and the original Italian voices it was so much flatter. I don't know how else to explain it. This version does something for my spirits where other versions do not so much. Re: I am lacking showsLuC wrote:
That's unusual. I normally find dubbed things take something away from the original, I tend to prefer subtitles. 2020. Meh.

Oh man, SO GOOD, Life is Beautiful, makes me well up just thinking of Roberto Benigni on the seats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cTR6fk8frs "....I would like to thank my parents in Vergai, are in the little village in Italy, they gave me the biggest gift of poverty..." That was awesome. I thought I saw a young pretty version of Goldie Hawn (a couple of times) in the audience but she looks too young to actually be Goldie Hawn. I did see his female co star at the end, that was nice. He was a little difficult to understand but over all one could make it out. Re: I am lacking showsdominar wrote:
There's this show called Parks and Recreation...you might like it. Not too young, just 20+ years younger than now. 20 2022-07-21 08:56:34 (edited by dominar 2022-07-21 17:42:00)Re: I am lacking showsThanks for the recommendations, Ron fucking Swanson! 10 hours, i cant believe it "Au naturel maybe, thats the way i like it. I couldn't remember offhand what the other mixed period drama/modern times (time-traveling) show it was that I'd watched (and enjoyed) but just ran across mention of it. I was like "Ah! That's him!?" When I realized that a protagonist in the program I'm currently watching, Queen Seon Duk, was the main protagonist in that other program I'd seen a while back, Live Up To Your Name. I'd actually been snooping information about some actors/actress' from another show, Emperor of the Sea when I saw (realized) that one of the girls that moved me to tears over an event was the main actress in Live Up To Your Name. Their characters seem like the diametrical opposite; or not alike. There are so many actors and actresses in these programs that are also in the different programs I'm watching. Sometimes, the ones that play the bad guys (I mean really bad, you really want hate them) play a good guy in some program (like Lee Jae-Yong, who was evil in several programs, then I quite liked his character in Emperor of the Sea). Anyway, all beside the point. I watch them then I forget them. I don't mean that they're not memorable because they are, I just mean all the details slip out of my head like the title, haha. Until I see it again then it all comes back like as if it was never lost. Ah, and there is one more time traveling program I watched. It was a bit on the silly side but alas, I can't remember. Re: I am lacking showsI really can't recommend https://next-episode.net/reservation-dogs highly enough. Re: I am lacking showsHere, have a 500 suggestions Re: I am lacking showspaisley1 wrote:
This is a good tip, missed this one back then Re: I am lacking showsI know I'm a bit late to this thread, but I want to share a tip regarding this: mrverene wrote:
It's very easy for any member here to just (make it public and) share their watchlist by linking to it, so anyone can see what they watch and compare it to their own watchlist. There are also tools in there to filter linked watchlist by what you both watch or only shows they don't already watch etc. Just an FYI for anyone that may not be aware of this functionality.
