i have mostly enjoyed every season of slow horses.
however every season feels   "lacking" overall.
maybe its the lack of tension or immediacy. of anything.
i like that none of the event are world shattering.
and some of the seasons fall back on tired tropes
( i dont know when the books were written, it might have been ground breaking stuff in 1970-90)

it is a good solid show

pirates were the first democratic organizations in the new world
and the first organizations where women could lead men

i have been told that the seasons match the books almost exactly.

IMO, the seasons do NOT match the books *exactly*. I read them after the show started. Much of it does match, but Diana Taverner's appearance differs greatly (not that it really matters in the scheme of any plots so far), a "bad" country was changed to a different country (again, it really doesn't matter), and I forget what else. It's jarring to me, but I don't remember the show diverting enough to make a lot of difference. BTW, read the books if you want to hear Roddy's thoughts.

in season 1 it is suggested that tavener torpedoed river(at the airport) after river showed her his surveillance photos of her meeting the inside man of the false flag operation of kidnapping/beheading, but it is never said outright in the tv show, in the show river never seems to realize it. how about the books?

Slighty off topic, but Christopher Chung (our boy Roddy) is the lead love interest in the upcoming Netflix production of "My Brilliant Career". It takes place in 1900s Australia. Gotta give him props for not being type-cast, but I'm not sure I can erase Sam Neill from the 1979 part. I'll still probably watch it, though, just to see how Roddy...er, Christopher...does.
