Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Thought it was a good start as well, good that they have added new characters, the pool was starting to dry up.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Didn't really care for the new monster food arriving.... more that

Spoiler

I thought the scenes in the tunnels were pretty awesome. Tight atmosphere, disturbing with a sense of danger... loved it. Especially the creepy Gollum playing ball

And that ending.... I mean.... WTF?

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Fair enough, it isn't bad at all, I was just hoping to get more info on the lighthouse and the guy on the radio that seemed to know everything about them but you are right, the underground scenes were creepy as hell.

Thanks, I didn't even remember the lighthouse. I just skipped through the season 1 recap (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVOhzVDpZC0) to bring back some details. big_smile

Strong start into season 2. Hope they can keep up.

I was really disappointed. I've been looking forward to its return and felt it was a huge letdown after the season 1 finale. I don't really care about new people arriving, I wanna know what's going on lol

Maybe I was just expecting to much.

Not expecting too much in totality, but probably of (just) the first episode. wink

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Enjoyed 2x2!

Spoiler

The emaciated man who is chained to the wall couldn't have thrown down the rope, not even with his feet. The distance was too big. I wonder if this was an unintended blooper or if they use that to - again - lead the attentive viewer purposefully astray. big_smile

Yeah, did enjoy as well. Although, adding another layer on top of the mystery and not getting any closer even an inch what is going on, is kind of worrying we will get any satisfactory answers.... at all.

Spoiler

true, the whole scene doesn't make much sense. But also, the music box appeared from thin air and the whole dungeon disappeared into a *poof* when he went on the leave. So I guess, there is a subtle hint, that nothing he saw there was real or what he saw or experienced... besides the subcutaneous "The Strain"-like worms

I just hope this doesn't turn into some "Lost" fiasco.

2020.  Meh.

My exact reaction after watching S02E01. Got flashbacks from when Lost was airing.

Following the positive reviews here, gave s1 ep1 a burl. Nice premise and some solid heeby jeebies. Surely the logistically sensible loophole of just

following the river and/or train tracks out of town has been covered in upcoming episodes

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

I got some Lost vibes too, but only the good ones. cool

Lost went downhill only towards the end, and - thankfully, I must say (yes, I'm looking at you, https://next-episode.net/the-blacklist) - hardly any show today survives as long as Lost did, so that should not happen here. smile

If they do a LOST tie-in and reveal it is part of the same universe, I'd be in heaven.

Screw the haters, LOST was a hell of an enjoyable ride.

Hmmm, you're hugely in the minority there.  Lost started off so well, one of the most original and compelling TV shows ever made.  But then a few seasons in it was obvious that us viewers had so many questions about what was actually going on that were never going to be answered.  And then it ended, with just too many things left unanswered.  We'd invested so much time in the show and we were left with just too many unanswered questions.  We felt cheated.  So, so cheated.  I'm still not over it.

2020.  Meh.

Maybe that would be too much, but picture this: they find another special kind of tree where you can stick your head in and see your destination before going there. And they see... the village where The Others live! But the person looking through then says "Let's not get lost over there" and that's it. big_smile

Lucky I make up my own opinion on what I like.

Let's be honest, most of the normies that watched it still believe the last season was implying they were dead all along and couldn't quite grasp that wasn't what it was implying at all.....most normies are idiots.

It wasn't perfect but like I said, it was an enjoyable ride that provided probably hundreds of hours of entertainment, debates and theories created amongst my friend group as to what was going on, a lackluster ending doesn't negate literal years of fun and entertainment.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

I'm only up to s1 ep 3 but already thinking why don't they go on the offensive? Bait the monsters. I'm getting a few of the village lads to pitch in digging a big ol' pit outside some house window, covering the pit with thatch and filling it with gasoline. Give the boogeymans a cheery wave from the front door and watching them traipse towards it, down they go. Toss a match in, BAM, barbequed baddies, problem solved, now we got us a nice peaceful little village, albeit one we can't ever leave, but, still, one in which we sit on the front porch and watch the sun going down without shitting bricks about getting skinned alive about 3 minutes from now. Man I could write this crap.

Yes, a nice peaceful little village... But since the monsters don't control the population anymore, over time the village gets totally overcrowded, not everybody has a place to sleep, fights break out, etc. cool

The timber might not be a big problem, but you can't easily make new plumbing, mattresses, kitchens, etc. in that village. smile

Spoiler

If I recall correctly, everyone only sees the fallen tree once... so there's no getting back to it.

OH CRAP!

They should turn this show into a quasi-comedy. Every week there is a new harebrained idea to escape the village that ends in catastrophe and gore. This week, the locals build a makeshift hang glider and attempt to sail clear of the neighbouring fields to freedom. It ends in disaster as the crows attack the pilot en masse and eat him alive in the skies. How we laughed!

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

You know who I want naively toodling into town in the next light respite cameo episode? The 2 brothers from the old "Prison Break" telly show. They'll find a way out! Tunnelling under the village, gahh, monsters there, go back, go back. Doing some running training up and down the main village street (set to the "Rocky" theme of course) then they attempt to run all day in a straight line out of town and acorss the fields gahhh not the crows again
