Unravel the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest - including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

I was already hooked when I finished the first episode. smile Watched the first three now, very good! Quite a unique story.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Love it so far

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

im not totally sold. But yeah it's not bad. Hoping the pay off at the end of this season and over all picks it back up for me.

"city morgue, you kill em, we chill em"

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Yes, enjoy it quite a lot. Just hope it won't end up another "Lost"... dragging on the mystery forever and then falling short of any satisfying resolution/explanation

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

I'm not usually one for horrors but this one caught my eye for some reason.
It has enough mystery and drama to keep me interested after watching the first three episodes.
As Fassy says, hopefully they won't do us like that.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

While I loved https://next-episode.net/lost, From clearly plays in a different league. But it's a lovely league! wink

Watched 1x6 today:

Spoiler

I had wondered in earlier episodes... where do they get their electricity (and water) from? And now - the "they don't/ can't work" cables working, and leading just down into the ground... such a fun idea! smile

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

1x7!

Spoiler

While I question the general plausibility of successfully doing so, the French-kissing-turns-ripping-out-his-tongue was something I never saw before in any show or movie! big_smile

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Yeah, pretty intense. One of the best horror/mystery shows I have seen in the last few years.

Pretty creepy...

1x9 - not my favorite episode, BUT...

Spoiler

...loved the tent in the woods ending! Didn't answer any questions, but made me even more curious for the season finale next week! smile

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Yeah, 01x09 was a bit slow. Hope they wrap it up nicely in 01x10.

Spoiler

the tent ride was fun but looked a bit goofie. Like "ok, dear actors, please lie down in the tent, try to wiggle around like rainworms on dry sand and looked scared while one of production helper rattles the tent roof and the other one holds a real bright spotlight" big_smile

Haha yeah, my thoughts exactly.

Watched the season finale. I had wished for less of a cliffhanger, but can live with it - as long as the show gets renewed! cool

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

After watching the last ep of Severance, I wrote; One of the better season finales I've ever seen.

After watching the last ep of From; This is one of the worst season finales I've ever seen. sad

The writers doesn't know the answers either, it seems...

Do you have any evidence of that or is it pure speculation?

To me it seems they are going full LOST with drip feeding info, answering some questions but opening up bigger mysteries and setting up expansion for the next season, I have faith they learnt their lesson last time and surely they have an outline of the larger overarching story this time.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Certainly reminds me of LOST as well .... has FROM been renewed ?

19

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Pffffff.... that was a weak episode as season finale.

Not yet renewed. Hope they will not drop it.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Renewed For Season 2:

I was pretty sure it would happen, but it's always good to have it confirmed. smile

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Nice, well deserved.

Bit scary to read "In season two, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge,"... the Lost vibe grows stronger smile

But let's see. Hope they have in fact the whole story figured out, planed over x seasons and the show doesn't get axed before we reach that final episode which explains everything....

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Just started watching this, it's great.

Re: From [Drama, Horror, Mystery]

Strong start into season 2. Hope they can keep up.

Totally agree!

I love that the premise of the show makes it possible to add new characters whenever they want. smile

I was really disappointed. I've been looking forward to its return and felt it was a huge letdown after the season 1 finale. I don't really care about new people arriving, I wanna know what's going on lol

Maybe I was just expecting to much.
