Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
lol. it could be hair transplants? I am surprised that quiff man passed the screen test when auditoining. I think they thought they were doing a Picard, they got away with it as he had such formidable prescence like the original Kirk with no physical pretension. its too much like steven seagal with his ever so dyed black hair .......( by the way a rather fat Shatner is now hosting an "Unexplained" series and even appeared in dIscussion with GiorgioTsoulkalos of "Ancient Aliens")
Lolz, so much unnecessary hate of Anson Mount and Fat Shatner. Also, Shatner's been a guest on Ancient Aliens S16x6.
The UnXplained has the who's who of the History Channel presenters, and I liked this last season especially the excavations in South America, gets me interested in archaeology, like, a month ago they found a hidden passageway at the Chavin Archaeological Site and named it the condor’s passageway, and inside were some 3000 year old relics. Take a look:
...but more importantly, did you buy your copy of the Subspace Rhapsody soundtrack yet or was there just too much quiff?

You know you don’t have to watch it right? Or is someone forcing you? Blink twice if you’re being held hostage and
made to watch shows you don’t like..Not allowed to have a different opinion.
Oh, I think I get it now! You can’t read or understand human languages! That’s why you keep thinking people are telling you you can’t have different opinions. And that also explains why you don’t like human TV shows.
How else could you explain your response to my message that had no mention of having opinions or judgement, just a question. It couldn’t possibly be you wanting to play the victim so that you can pretend “they” are out to get you because of your superior brain/race/gender/whatever..
Sorry, he is correct. You state your opinion here for good or worse and there is an inquisition that pops up and it's not constructive what comes out of it.

that is clearly an extraterrestial in a flying suit with wings.
I dont hate Anson Mount - never heard of the guy before this show. His quiffed face just not fit in the trek universe. it jarrs. Maybe some kind of crime series or a Meghan Markle drama

I almost envy your ability to make up something that's not there. toidol didn't talk about any opinion, so conmits' reply about a different opinion didn't make sense.

He is referring to Merc not being allowed to simply post his opinion without having people question him, follow the replies up.

Of course merc is allowed to post his opinion, but when he posts about his quiff aversion again and again and again, of course it leads to comments. Same thing if someone were to complain about nurse Chapel's hair color or the absence of squirrels in sci-fi shows week after week.
And now we all wonder if merc went prematurely bald.

The problem with shows that are part of popular franchises, i.e. Star Trek and Star Wars, they have huge fan bases, and people are very passionate about them. So when they get royally screwed up by people that seem to have no real respect for a franchise's history of course people are going to get angry and then need to vent, to other like-minded people in the only real outllet they will get heard on... Internet forums. It's what they are there for isn't it?
I think SNW is poor and it could have been great. It should have been great. For God's sake, why not give Seth McFarlane a go at it?
I can rise above the quiff (not literally, I think it's too ludicrously high for that) but I get where Merc is coming from. But insulting each other which seems to be happening here probably isn't the best idea.
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Had Hanson/Pike been in the original/first season of the Orville we would all have understood his quirky looks?
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Ok, i hate to pile on.
But im obliged to say this show does not take itself seriously, the glee AND animation thing really hit me wrong.

I did get a chuckle out of that but I like to think we all have a lot more in common than not, its just there is a lot of frustration being felt by a lot of passionate fans at the current state of Star Trek (and most other big franchises.)

lolz, so funny, the narrative on the UnXplained isn't nearly as bad as Ancient Aliens, but I guess William Shatner was the Captain of the Enterprise for so long that he HAS to push the alien narrative now...and one day Anson Mount.

I know, I watched that top 10 ep, so boring, Giorgio Tsoukalos is ridiculous, and speaking of Quiffs with a capital Q:
I dont hate Anson Mount - never heard of the guy before this show. His quiffed face just not fit in the trek universe. it jarrs. Maybe some kind of crime series or a Meghan Markle drama
Well, lolz, saying his quiffed face doesn't fit the trek universe and that it jarrs, is hilarious, and a pretty intense dislike which is the dictionary definition of hate, but I get where you're coming from, I felt the same way about the cast of Discovery.
He was the Black Bolt in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, who gets his head blown up, if that makes you feel any better merc.

That sums up the man and his show exactly. I bet in his heart of hearts he thinks he is one or self-ids as one
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
Quiff or not although it plays a significant role; Star Trek was always just state funding for one white man to go chase as many alien females as possible, the prime directive appears to be a rule of thumb for when it's OK to pursue it with individuals from young cultures and the time travelling aspect is so they can go back fix real mistakes made on this front.

Outed.
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
ah I understand now why Anson as Pike has the old fashioned hair style. I f you watch the very very old Shatner Star Trek and the Pike eps thats him there, not old fashioned at the time. So just being "original"
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
I used to have an old CRT tv that was past its best and distorted images near the top of the screen ie stretched them. That is how Pikes hair seems
Re: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
A new 5 minute trailer for Strange New Worlds just showed up on YouTube.
