Re: Peacemaker
I only just watched 1x1 last week, but I love the dance opening. I almost gave up when his dad started spouting all that vitriol and John Cena speaks a little fast, but I'll definitely watch at least a couple more. The vignette at the end of the credits was funny (at least to me). I hope the rest have that. "Scabies"

Re: Peacemaker
Yes, there are end credit sequences every episode. I liked the pace of speech - they actually talked like normal people. I could only watch this at 1.5x instead of the 2x+ i use for pretty much everything else.

▼Spoiler yeah, if you like these multiverse/alternate reality bs. Just can’t stand it. Not even in Peacemaker where they surely ridicule the concept…

Re: Peacemaker
Nope, couldn’t stand it. I see why some people might have enjoyed Loki, but it’s just not for me. Also too much Marvel-Spandex for me. Same like all things Star Wars, I am just fed up with the Marvel and DC superhero scenario. Well, with Pracemaker being the exception assuming they keep up the ridiculousness of season 01. There are very few shows which handle the alternate reality thing well enough to provide an interesting story angle. Continuum, Fringe and Counterpart would be such rare gems.

From the season 2 teaser I got the feeling that they toned it down a little bit, but I hope that the (hopefully upcoming) season 2 trailer will prove me wrong!

Re: Peacemaker
While I quite enjoyed the first season, this feels really out of place with the tone of the new DCU. (Having watched Superman just before it.) Maybe its just too much James Gunn for me in such a short time. He kinda just relies on the same tropes again and again in everything.

Re: Peacemaker
2x1 - an unfunny wannabe edgy retcon, with excessive violence and kink that was neither funny nor edgy but just kinda void of substance like season 1, and to proteinnerd's point... ▼Spoiler ....I assume that in future episodes the retconned story they've just created will eventually align, tonally, with the new DCU, where they may perhaps abandon this dark timeline altogether and join Superman's more pristine and clean timeline, making this season a last hurrah for depressing characters they have yet to unpack. When in doubt, multiverse retcon, everybody's doing it, we can be just like Deadpool and Wolverine, Gong!

Re: Peacemaker
Well, I had fun watching 2x1. F*** the timelines! Yes, it could have been better, but for me, this was roughly the right amount of nudity and violence (and silly jokes).

Ja, feel the same… was quite bored and just didn’t had the vibe of season 1. In general I feel too many shows trying to be provoking funny and edgy but really are not. The only one right now, where it works for me is Twisted Metal. And there just half of the time… ▼Spoiler …like Sweet tooth in Diesel City or Axel’s rampage with the Crash Test Dummies…

Re: Peacemaker
Season 2, Episode 1...where is the story? The Episode had a decent amount of character development and I guess the inclusion into the new DCU is taken seriously in the show, at least more than the MCU ever did. There was a considerable amount less humour than in the first Episode of Season 1, which I hope will be different in the rest of the season - that was the main selling point for this show for me. But in terms of story, I felt like there really wasn't one. Hopefully the "hints of a story" will bear fruit in the next episode. The opening theme was not very impressing. I watched the opening from Season 1 probably dozens of times (just the opening) because I like it so much, this one will be contained to just the episodes. ▼Spoiler I think it would've been better if Peacemaker would've gone on a killing spree instead of an orgy...feels to me like something Peacemaker wouldn't really do? I really hope they are going to explain how the pocket-dimension (or whatever it is) is connected to other universes. I would understand if in each universe the thing was created by his father and everyone used the same technology to create the space which connected them somehow. On the other hand it's hard to imagine this is the first time someone went through another door, especially since most of them will then probably have the same code. I mean, James Gunn should know by now that multiversal themes can only result in a mess, right? MCU proved that a thousand times over by now...but ok, let's give him a try.

Re: Peacemaker
Episode 2...slow but I think we are getting there. Only 2 Episodes so far, but this Season kinda reminds me of Daredevil: Born Again where we get a whole lot of "self-discovery", an unnecessary amount of "pity-party" and barely any "Peacemaker". But we got some action in this Episode, and that was worth the time spent for me .

2x2 - Eagly for the win! So good. I didn't like S1, but this retconned story might pan out, however the parts that are supposed to be funny look like they are supposed to be funny....no laughs yet.

2x3 - I liked this episode, it's weird, but at least it was interesting, had some laughs, and pandered appropriately.

Re: Peacemaker
2x3 started out waaaaay too slow for my mood, but became really good. IIRC, this was the first time I ever saw a ... ▼Spoiler complete copier being used ...as a weapon... And THIS dialog: ▼Spoiler "Are you in or not?" "I'm not. Fuck this!" "Then you're fired." "I'm in."
And it took me a while to recognize...

Re: Peacemaker
Episode 3 was indeed good, gives the impression that things are finally kicking off. So far however the background music is imho quite a letdown, no song really fits the scene which is sad considering this is James Gunns best trademark for me. Season 1 was way better in that regard. Really great for
▼Spoiler Peacemaker getting a solo hero moment. Felt good seeing him look like a professional there
What's still weird to me is that
▼Spoiler in the other dimension, his father and brother give off the vibe they don't even know that the portal is there? Especially when they thought he was missing - our Peacemaker's father used the portal for storage, if that is the same for the other dimension - they would definitely have checked inside the portal. I hope this gets resolved somehow.
