Wow! That's exactly what I was saying about pandering. Kinda funny, someone else out there who has a similar perspective as me, even if this was about gender, it coincides at the minority interest level. Thanks h3ctic. Ya, don't reboot Back to the Future, that'd be atrocious. As far as Fury Road though, lolz, I hated it, no, I thought the whole concept was extremely dumb as their dystopian universe didn't make any logical sense, so the characters didn't, at least to me. Amelie on the other hand, ya, amazing, love that story. Ripley in Alien, sure, she's great, and I enjoyed his comment, "in 2 and a half good movies". Pretty funny. Anyway, when it looks like pandering, even when it wasn't intended to be pandering, it's too late, I don't like it, as it can take me out of the fiction. I understand everyone's desire and need to be included in our world through entertainment and all venues where you find people. The problem I have is when those desires regardless of what they are, are pushed on all of us. It is clear this is what's happening with same-sex relationships. It is clear how it is being pushed on all of us. How I feel about same-sex relationships is not the point. I have never liked relationships in my entertainment past any hint two people are together. Beyond that, it is just too much for me, I don't care if it is man and woman, or any other type of relationship. Can't we include everyone without making overreaching statements about it? Maybe it's time to make peace with relationships, love, sex and all the rest? If watching regular shows is not okay for you, seeing couples hug and kiss in public must be torture... I learned earlier today that others are now trying to fix that very same 'issue': Taliban unveil new rules banning women in TV dramas. Some shows you might <3 too: https://next-episode.net/messiah https://next-episode.net/devs https://next-episode.net/ted-lasso https://next-episode.net/the-outsider

I'm a straight man, and while I know some gay people, I don't have any close friends that are gay. While I don't care what gay people get up to as it's entirely their business, I don't necessarily like seeing gay people kissing on screen, or having sex. There I said it. In this day and age I'm not really allowed to say that, but that's just how I feel. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I can't help how I feel. To an extent when I watch a TV drama, it *normally* reflects the world I live in. But every single show I watch now has at least one gay person in it. Some even have trans characters. That does not represent my world, but that's what TV is like and like it or not, I have to accept it. I won't lose sleep over it, I'm not repulsed by it, I just don't necesarily want it... *ahem* rammed down my throat all the time. I don't quite see how what the Tabilan doing (which is wrong on every level) the same as the same-sex relationships argument here. 2020. Meh.
