Re: Squid Game [Drama, Action, Adventure, Mystery, Thriller]
It's weird because, not so long ago the creator said this: Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has shut down the rumors surrounding an American spinoff for the Netflix series. Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed, “I didn’t end it on that note in order to deliberately leave room for further stories to happen.” Hwang explained that the finale was meant to highlight a broader theme of how even when one part of an exploitative system collapses, the larger structure of late-capitalist competition remains intact and tends to repeat itself. “That’s why I wanted to end it with an American recruiter,” he said, adding, “I wrote that scene wanting an impactful ending for the show, not to open rooms for anything else.”
https://fandomwire.com/squid-game-creat … an-theory/ Maybe Netflix is doing their own shtick which would not be great for Squid Game...
Deserved more runtime: Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier https://next-episode.net/user/WilliamDrakeMcGregor/

Since David Fincher is involved, there's a good chance it will be good! :) I don't care enough to google the legal details, but I guess that either they convinced the creator with a big pile of money, which would be quite funny, or he had signed away the rights previously and Netflix could just do what they wanted to do without asking.

I just think it’s strange that it’s coming out very soon and there has been zero marketing whatsoever.

Not really:
The American spin-off, titled Squid Game: America, is set to begin filming in Los Angeles on February 26, 2026. Developed by acclaimed director David Fincher, the series is projected to release on Netflix in late 2026 or, more likely, in 2027, according to reports.

It Releases Apr 26, 2026 That’s pretty soon considering there hasn’t even been a trailer or poster. This release is very very odd

I can only assume that is a mistake on imdb since it says S2, E5 - Death raking - So, 26. Apr. 2026 I doubt that they are going to start with Season 2, Episode 5
