Topic: The Chair

The Chair is a Netflix 6 parter.  At a major university, the first woman of color to become chair tries to meet the dizzying demands and high expectations of a failing English department. In particular it is about the woke state of American universities. Its a comedy.

I have just finished watching and at first thought it's premise on which much of the story hinged not credible until I read of a Portland assistant university professor, Peter Boghossian, who after 10 years resigned due to the wokeness of that institution  that no longer existed to teach students how to think but to sprout woke ideology uncritically

Peter Boghossian’s resignation letter in full:

Re: The Chair

I watched the first episode and it was OK.  I switched off halfway through the second

Re: The Chair

Dropped it in the middle of first ep. This time not even because of the dumb American woke crap, it was plain boring. Wokesness is more pronounced in other shows, sometimes you feel like you are watching some derailed puke of mental hospital patients big_smile
