The show follows a gang of reformed crooks using their unique skills to right corporate and governmental injustices inflicted on common citizens.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

It's a harmless show that works a lot like https://next-episode.net/scorpion did. smile

I stumbled upon https://next-episode.net/leverage-redemption by chance and then learned that it's the successor to https://next-episode.net/leverage - which I never knew existed. cool

IMHO, it's FAR better than that tripe Scorpion ever was.

2020.  Meh.

What makes it FAR better in your opinion? I only find it a bit better.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

The original Leverage was quite good, I enjoyed it.  I have only seen the first episode of Redemption and I am not sure.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

OG Leverage is one of my favorites. Haven't had time to check out the new one.

...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

If you liked the original it's more of the same. Not great, not terrible, most of the original cast back, but to me it'll always pale compared to https://next-episode.net/hustle

Re: Leverage: Redemption

I discovered Leverage by accident and I am glad I did. Reminds me of another show called The Catch which is also about con men and women.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

Re: Leverage: Redemption

My wife and I love the original and were really excited when they made some more episodes buuuut we started watching Redemption and could not quite get into it. Without some of the original characters it just doesn't work.

What?  It has all the original characters except one.

Re: Leverage: Redemption

Three quarters of them are in the series.  Aldis Hodge aka Alec Hardison is only in first 3 episodes.    He was filming Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson at the time filming started on Redemption.    I read that It was all he could do before having to return to shooting the movie.

Ah, cool, I had guessed something like that was the reason. smile

Re: Leverage: Redemption

The TV show "Three" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0136672/) is really good and obviously the inspiration for "Leverage".

Re: Leverage: Redemption

It took me forever to start watching this, but I'm enjoying it. It's similar to the original but not as good.

Agreed, but yeah something is missing.

In my opinion it's primarily the big bad guys who mess with the team sometimes in the background and then have a big showdown at the end of the season.

And I also miss the regular "blowing up of HQ" smile

But nevertheless, it's a good recipe and I'm glad they haven't really changed the core ingredients.

About Season 3 Episode 5

Spoiler

I really enjoyed the "girls night out" episode which they have also done in the OG show. But back then it was followed up by a "guys night out" which doesn't seem to happen this time around (according to episode descriptions) - very disappointing.

Shows that deserved more runtime:
Abbys | Dead Like Me | Devs | Firefly | Gangsta. | Jack of all Trades | Kevin (probably) saves the World | Lodge 49 | Mrs. Davis | NYC 22 | Powerless | Roadkill | Special Unit 2 | Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi | Stumptown | Surface | The Brave | The Company You Keep | The Crazy Ones | The Finder | The Middleman | Truth Seekers | Two Weeks to Live | Whiskey Cavalier

I miss Timothy Hutton, because of accusations he was replaced. And they keep teasing us with Aldis Hodge.

I miss the interaction between Aldis Hodge and Beth Riesgraf.

And I really do not like Aleyse Shannon.

And some of the plots this season have been beyond belief bad. I forget the episode, but I had to turn it off. I was getting dumber just by watching it.
