About two weeks ago I started an experiment: I started to watch this series from 1x1 again while continuing to watch the current season. It's slightly confusing at times, but I like it.

I do that as well. And I always catch stuff I missed the first time around. But to lower the confusion I will stop watching any of the current ones and just catch up with the old. Currently doing that with Star Trek Strange new worlds and I am finding it to be better than I originally thought. Thank you for your input and ideas lighton.

I usually do a full watch through in the weeks up to a new season of something I really like to get fully caught back up. Grr... another good episode, but another long week in front of us! I can't wait to see how all the storylines play out! Especially Day's!

Pretty sure this episode confirmed a theory for me. ▼Spoiler Demerzel was always the plan. If you know about the whole laws of robotics thing, getting her reset to her factory default settings would be highly desirable as by default she's programmed for preserving the human race per that whole conversation about Issac Asimov's laws of robotics with the 0th law being mentioned. Day going to the cultists that could have the means and knowledge to reset her and remove Cleon's bullshit programming is where I think the story is going, or hope it is.

Ep 7, so good! Ugh, I can't wait to see how Day's story plays out, I'm so invested, another long, long week in front of us! I can't wait to see how the season plays out, I really hope the show goes for all 8 crisis.

Mind control villans are always terrifying. When Dr. Who played the one in Jessica Jones, he was properly teriffying and sadistic as well. Man, it's been a long week. 3 left, I'm gonna be sad when they've all aired, this is definitely my favorite airing show right now.

I've already rewatched the season up to now and probably will do so again, I've noticed a TON of details. The most interesting is listening to the beginning conversation with Gale and Harry on the other 8 crisis. But yeah I'm ITCHING to see how this ends and season 4 I may just have to let fully air when it comes out in 2ish years lol. This waiting is killing me.

And this is a really pretty show, they did a really good job with the buildings and the ships, and I love me some good sci-fi ships.

Totally agree with you there. But I don't know if I have the stones to let a whole season go by just so I can hoover it in one sitting. Foundation is that kinda show for sure. But aren't 10 or less episode shows kinda perfect for binging?

3x8 - Skin In The Game. So well done, great episode of TV. Very religious. ▼Spoiler I was expecting Demerzel to show up for Day during the trial, instead the trial was about exposing corruption and manipulation in a robot religion (The Inheritance), but I suppose the use of false religions as a tool for psycho history has been a consistent motif for Foundation, like the Brothers last season who believed in that psycho history math religion (Church of the Galactic Spirit), they also left bread crumbs with Demerzel "I was foolish to think the mother could hold me in her arms", so there has to be more to unpack there and a connection with how her ties with Luminism will be used by Hari and play into psycho history and the foundation.

Three years in and I'm honestly not sure if I like the show or not. Some aspects are fantastic, other aspects are terrible yet I watch it religiously every week.

It is like a movie so bad, you cant help but watch it to the end. And then it becomes a cult classic. So bad its good.

It has been a long, long time since I read the books, and the show is very, very loose about following them. However.... ▼Spoiler Luminism is/was one of the crisis. And the books were written in the 40s and were very very dated, most of the changes have been amazing.

The books were written by Issac Asimov, who literally coined the terms, robots, robotics, androids, cyborg, and was the first to write about technologies like cryogenics and honestly more than I could reasonably go into. Other famous Sci-Fi works attribute being inspired by Foundation, Frank Herbert of the Dune series for example cited Foundation as an inspiration, and George Lucas mentioned Trantor as the inspiration for Corusant in the Star Wars franchise. The Foundation books were more a loose collection of stories in the Foundation Universe so to speak and weren't as closely narratively tied as the show is. There are also a TON of differences, for example, Gale was a man, and most of the books were spent in rooms smoking 'vegan tobacco' lol. Issac has had some direct adaptations to the screen over the years, I,Robot with Will Smith and Bicentenial Man with Robin Williams are the most famous. He wrote hundreds of short stories and books, and it's kind of a wonder to me at times more of it hasn't been adapted to the main screen. Although honestly without him we wouldn't have half the scifi concepts that are now troupes.

And yes, the 1990s adaptations of several of his works were... rough. Nightfall (1990?) and Robots (1988) are two examples and boy are the rough.

I hope its over an hour long like the last seasons ending. It should be action packed and hopefully resolves a few things. But knowing our luck, it will have a massive cliffhanger and then get cancelled.
