This is a forum specifically to talk about TV shows and our reactions to them. Do the people who don't like it no longer have a right to an opinion?

This show is one that needs people to have an open mind, we don't know how the story will unfold. Until the season has ended.

To judge a show by its premise, trailer or first 5 minutes is, in my opinion, a bit too hasty. If it doesn't feel like ones thing at the beginning maybe wait until there are more episodes available.

A book should not be judged by its cover.

You may only have watched the trailer and 5 minutes.

I have watched over 20% of the season.

Re: WandaVision

I was never a fan of the situation comedy shows and this is a painful reminder why. Will try one or two more eps to see if there is a punch line in sight and how long its going to take to get there.

Re: WandaVision

There is something more than just crappy old sitcom. It seems that...

Spoiler

...Wanda is stuck in some dream world and S.W.O.R.D. has something to do with that. This goes deeper than what we see at the moment. The fact that the 2nd episode ended in color it seems that they are moving from the 50's to the 60's. Maybe when we get closer to present in her dream state the behind-the-scenes thing will unravel and viewers won't be disappointed in the end.

After i calmed down a bit and prepared myself mentally what was coming, i did finish the first ep and going to continue to watch for now but boy there was no need to "punish" the viewers with 4:3 black and white for several episodes for an obvious plot reveal.

Its the typical "left" approach - if you agree with me, lets party - but... if you disagree, shut up, you're not allowed an opinion, let alone express it.

Sorry to say I don't like this. I watched 2 episodes but that's it for me. Might be the US type of humour but it's not mine

The right don't preach what they don't practice. No one is allowed an opinion that differs from the lefts agenda. So no, you didn't "fix" it

As said above, keep this civil.

People have different opinions and they are allowed to have them.  Keep left- and right-ness out of it.

Re: WandaVision

So we've got to the end of episode 3.

Spoiler

A third of the way through the entire season and the plot has advanced to the point where we know that Wanda and Vision and everyone else in the community is living in a fantasy world that appears to be working as some sort of haven/prison for Wanda that may or may not be run by SWORD.

So, one sentence sums up the entire plot progression of 3 episodes, and aside from that we have had 3 telegraphed "clues" that ring bells with people familiar with MCU, and a handful of tenuous easter eggs relating to Marvel comics that only Marvel comics fans would be aware of.

... And a little under 1.5 hours of painful sitcom pastiche.

Thin gruel.

Re: WandaVision

I think it was pretty easy to realise during the first episode that all wasn't as it seems.  Certainly at the end of it.  It's supposed to be painful sitcom pastiche, it's supposed to be the exactly same style as other 50's and 60's sitcoms, which are very of their time and you probably won't find funny.

I just don't get why everyone is still missing the point and commenting in here about how much they hate this show.

Don't watch it.

2020.  Meh.

Re: WandaVision

No one's missing the point that all isn't as it seems. I'd be surprised if anyone had to even watch the first episode to know that. Folks are just annoyed at the execution. And "Don't watch it." isn't really applicable advice when folks aren't just watching a show for its own sake but also for its furthering of a story within a larger universe.

I knew from the trailer long ago what they were doing and that it'd be annoying for a bit. I'm watching it anyway.

I'm sorry, but yes they are missing the point. You can't have a go at the show because it's the same format as a 50's or 60's sitcom. If you don't like those sort of shows then try and look beyond that, because this show isn't about that.

But do you know what, I think I'm bored of saying the same thing here, I give up.

I think the point being missed is by you:

This is a forum for discussing TV shows, not a fanboy convention.

I'm watching it too, despite thinking it is awful, because it is part of the MCU and will (allegedly) be a vital part of the continuity of that universe.

Re: WandaVision

Finally, watchable. If only they'd just had ep 4 be two episodes with interspersed clips to do the work episodes 1-3 did I'd have been so much less annoyed.

Agree but it is also irritating that the hardwork of the 1st 3 episodes, and eastereggs scattered through them, were explained away  in just a couple of sentences of exposition.

You could skip the first 3 episodes of the season and not be at any disadvantage compared to those who watched from the start after the first 15 minutes of episode 4.

Will the new format stick for the rest of the season? Or will we get 3 more sitcom pastiches, another "reality episode" and a finale that ties everything up?
