New season is woke trash. Season 3 had a lot of woke aspects but at least it made sense within the context of the story and characters. Season 4 however is just pure woke. The very basis of the story and new characters are all there to service the woke agenda. What on earth were they thinking.

4x1 and 4x2 have an earnest heart felt comedic tone which might be too sappy for some, I laughed at the lesbian humor and didn't find it that woke, as I'd expect a lack of heterosexual relationships and a lack of femininity in women's soccer, but at least they have the right gender finally playing the sport, burn...(says the Canadian hockey player who has always thought of soccer as a girls sport and doesn't understand how anyone can stay awake watching it)

The humour is there and what we get from Ted is closer to Season 1 than Season 3 (which is a good thing).
What have they done with Rebecca, though?...that was embarrassing. Why is it necessary to kill her confidence?
Same goes for Beard...he was the coolest weirdest guy ever in S01...no he is just weird.

Apart from the assistant coach and the goalie they didn't really manage to introduce any of the other players...they tried to but I could not tell you any of their names.

Doesn't stuff like that happen in soccer all the time?

...it wasn't really about the girl that got injured as much as it was about Alice's humanity and quick response helping her fellow athlete despite being miserable about getting passed over by Ted, and why Ted would later affirm Alice knowing she went through an injury that took her out of the sport.

I would think a report like this would be made before they start the team? Risk assessment? Again, makes Rebecca look incompetent - I don't know why they are going down that road?

When they brought up "open trials" I immediately thought about Shannon.

Really disappointing how they went about it though...why was she the one not good enough, why wasn't she the one who didn't come to the trials?
Ted goes and talks to her...heartfelt (maybe even painfull - reasons why she didn't show up) conversation, a motivational "TED-talk" (why hasn't the show ever done that joke? lol ) and helps her get over some trauma maybe?

I know she only had a few scenes in the show before, but to me she had a big impact on Ted.

Lizzy was kinda obvious since she was the only actress I recognized smile

Child labor is always a fun way to solve problems...wtf?

Ted is such an American yokel that he's never heard of Susan Boyle, yet knows a ton of pop culture references?  That joke didn't land for me, she's too famous, and Ted's too knowledgeable, he'd have heard about her.  265M views for Susan Boyle - Britains Got Talent - I dreamed a dream.  A better joke would've been if Coach Beard took Ted aside and asked, "Do you really not know who Susan Boyle is?" and Ted replies, "'Course I heard of Susan Boyle, I don't live under a rock, just don't want Alice to know that I know. (funnier wink)

My god this is shit now. How did this bullshit from the writers room get the ok from the producers? How did the actors straight up not go "nope, not saying that". They are pushing this woke ultra feminist agenda so hard that it's actually anti feminist. They are treating the audience and the subject matter like we are dumb. I think that's the end of the road for me, officially dropping this show.

I dropped this show after episode two.
I wonder if women (I mean real women, you know, the old fashioned ones, the ones with wombs) are actually watching this and thinking “awesome! Yay! Finally some representation! What a fantastic show!”

My biggest problem with S4 so far is that they give us no one to connect with on the new team.
Neither the coach, the mum, Gemma or Shannon...none of them have been given scenes or stories or anything to make them interesting.

With Season 1 we had plenty of character specific story arcs which gave us opportunity to get to know them and get excited about...that is totally missing here.
And those are the only characters I am mildly interested in, even though they butchered Rebecca's character and Roy and Keeley's story is boring af.

404 & 405, not bad, I enjoyed the pop culture references, Ferris Beuller, the story brings us closer to the players during game night, and coach Alice and coach Beard have meaningful storylines.
