Re: Snowpiercer [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi]
lighton wrote:My issue (and IIRC I said this before):
▼Spoiler for some reason, snow never accumulates enough anywhere on the planet to stop Snowpiercer, but here it was enough snow to make the top of the building become ground-level... and not even that far away from the tracks. The only logical explanation: that building was built mostly underground - but that doesn't seem that logical either... Doesn't matter, I can live with the plot holes.
▼Spoiler Actually that's not an issue, it's expected if it's -90C outside - snow is a precipitation. Nothing to fall from the sky, if nothing can evaporate to the sky. After 7 years it's basically too much snow on the tracks what they show. From Wikipedia, the coldest spot on Earth: Vostok Station has an ice cap climate (EF), with subzero temperatures year round, typical as with much of Antarctica. Annual precipitation is only 22 millimetres (0.87 in) (all occurring as snow), making it one of the driest places on Earth. Also it's possible for them to stop the train, go outside, clear tracks, choose tracks (from whole huge network of tracks they use just a few lines). Sure, if you fall in through the roof, question is what kind of building it is - but still plausible, before the snow tracks could be elevated relative to the rest easy (as it is in many places). And if there is some kind of reactor, it could also be an underground building to begin with (which also is more believable to survive in such building, because ground works as an insulator). Actually pure magic is the heat insulation of that train, outside -90C, traveling some 100 kmh and walls max 10 cm thick, some next level material science right there or astronomical heating bill

What the heck was 3x07 about. Seemed like a filler episode and a string of episodes that are going nowhere.

Yeah, wasn't a fan. I appreciate them for trying something new, but it didn't really work for me.

I watched s03e07 at 2x speed, a total waste of time, you could easily skip the whole episode and not miss a thing. I don't know what the writer was thinking with that one.

3x10 had more holes than Swiss cheese. ▼Spoiler They had said the train was blocked and no one was getting through - except for everyone that wanted too. Getting bored of this show.

Yes, the show isn't perfect, but I enjoy it enough to tune in again when the next season starts.

I watched the film and was ok. I am surprised they made a multi season show. would not have thought much mileage in the idea. As for Sean Bean, a bit of a come down from after Game of Thrones and Sharpe?

If an actor would only want to be in shows like Game of Thrones, he wouldn't act much.

Definitely a show that you have to throw out your sense of disbelief for. Once I did that I liked it, it is Science Fiction after all, not science fact lol.

scorpius074 wrote: Snowpiercer: Cancelled at TNT; Fourth & Final Season Being Shopped Elsewhere It seems that TNT is officially out of the original scripted series business. The cable channel has cancelled plans to air the fourth and final season of Snowpiercer. The episodes have been produced and season four will be shopped elsewhere. There’s also a possibility that the show’s universe will keep chugging along.
Wow... shopping a final season elsewhere (that's already produced!) is nothing I read about before. Word is that the company is also hoping to sell a prequel and sequel with the hope of building Snowpierecer into a franchise. “We love Snowpiercer and believe season four completes a story with incredible talent that will entertain viewers while exploring issues of climate change and class warfare. We are so passionate about this series that we have acquired the rights to control the franchise,” Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, CEO/Partner, and Becky Clements, President/Partner, said in a statement. “We hope to find the perfect partner shortly and finish a great ride with the final season.”
Weird... That's like "Buy our awesome show universe that we don't want anymore!"

Sprinkle in a couple more lesbians - or maybe a dedicated lesbian cart and sell to Netflix, problem solved.

Re: Snowpiercer [Drama, Action, Sci-Fi]
Glad to hear we might get a season 4 of Snowpiercer. Anybody know if their shopping was successful for a place to show the season?

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv … 235852718/ It's over. Overall, I've enjoyed the final season, but in 4x10... ▼Spoiler ...they shouldn't have introduced those Snowpiercer 'roller blades' IMHO... Stupid/ silly!

Thank God that crap is finished. Was never a fan but boy was this bad, and the CGI was awful.

I thought the show's CGI was mostly okay. Any particular grief?

All of it to be honest. But as an example, the final shot of the flower in the snow looked like someone had rendered it on a Voodoo graphics card from 1996
