Re: Succession

The Emmy for Best Drama 2022: Succession Season 3.

Hey Rocky_Rock...Tom won best supporting actor at the Emmy's!!!  lol

Out of the whole season I just think of him and Greg talking about how prison food won't taste as good as the diner food they were eating.  It's a serious drama but I laugh at everything he says, Matthew Macfadyen landed in a role with a superb script.

Re: Succession

4x1 was like I missed an episode, or need a backstory episode.  What was that bidding war all about?  This one lost me, and was kinda boring.

4x2 was more of the same, kinda bland, but oooof, poor Connor.

Re: Succession

4x3 WHAT....THE....CRAP?!  So that happened.  Brilliant acting.  This is why Succession wins so many awards.

@Rocky, couple questions, what are the kids gonna do now?  Grow up?  Implode?  Is this the final season? Thoughts?

Felt like a series finale.

Re: Succession

This is very much the final season! 7 episodes left I think.

Hate to brag but my prediction for this season was for

Spoiler

Logan to cark it then evil wife MARCIA somehow inherits majority controlling interest. The shithead kids being casually disavowed and going apoplectic as Marcia installs her own son as CEO....

Guess next week will be the reading of the will? My guess is the kids are stuffed... except Connor who insanely gets a windfall. Logan guilt and to rub it in the faces of the other 3 plonkers. The other 3 kids lawyer up. As does Marcia who gets shafted by the will.

Reckon Kerry might be in the $$ for providing Logan with a few roots in his dotage too.

When Karl mentioned he'd been with Logan for 40 years it kind of felt like cueing him up to be CEO. Sensible choice compared to the 3 shithead kids

I reckon Greg might have Tom by the balls with the file thingy.

Or Logan bequeaths the whole empire to his estranged brother with a "I am sorry I was such a capitalist bastard. Please do with the networks what you will." Brother turns them all into 24/7 climate chango docos and farming channels. Greg to host.

Re: Succession

Yes, paisley1, brilliant acting. But too depressing for a series finale, even for this show. wink

Rocky_Rock_Rockbottom: I guess at least 50% of your predictions will not come to pass, but I enjoyed reading them. big_smile

Re: Succession

Whoa, another powerful episode.  Personally I wasn't expecting that, which is what I love about this show.  That and the bloody good cast and acting.  And script.  And dark humour.  This show has balls and they bite.  Biting balls.  Now there's an image.

2020.  Meh.

Re: Succession

Next episode of Succesion, I'm thinking:

Spoiler

An awkward funeral episode.  In the rain.  With lots of texting about the will.  Then a bombshell discovery at the end....yadda yadda yadda, series finale everyone ends up in prison....including Greg.  Fingers crossed.

Re: Succession

4x4 well, typical vultures circling.  Matsson might bail.  I like how this episode exposed Tom; he's just the worst.

Spoiler

I was right in thinking there would be lots of texting, and a discovery, in this case, Logan wanted Kendall to take over.

@Rocky, they haven't read the will yet so your predictions tbd, but I remember thinking, "Oh, Rocky's wrong about Karl."  Of course Kendall instantly sabotages everything, lolz.

Re: Succession

Ha, my predictions have come a cropper.

Didnt get how Marcia can

Spoiler

sell Con the house when there hasnt been a reading of the will yet? She sure gave skankpants Kerry the bums rush LOL. Pick up your shit and fuck off out the tradesmans to your little apartment.

Stewie is going to ride dipshit Ken into the poorhouse. Ride him like a marionetted fistpuppet. Ken will go to bits and be back on the drugs the very same day he has to actually come up with a business idea.

Tom slyly sloping around trying to sidle into someone's, anyone's good books ffs.

Crossed out or underlined? I've gone back and forth about 5 times on this...

Re: Succession

I didn't enjoy 4x4 that much, not enough progression for my taste.

Re: Succession

ep 5 surely that

Spoiler

blood brick story was fake, why the arse would billionaire Matson tell such incriminating details to, of all people, a rotten inscrupulous snake like Shiv ffs. Has to be some sort of a test to see if she blabs.

ps thought they were going to root for a moment there.

Re: Succession

ep 7 Gormless Gregg the bearsuit-headed bumblefuck

Spoiler

firing a screen full of professionals was so deliciously incongruous.

https://media0.giphy.com/media/mXdFtzzRSlNmd3WPq8/200.gif

Does he even have a job title? A contract to be anything? I remember he got given that fantastic apartment but ffs. Kind of mentally unrealistic how involved he is in operations despite being completely unfit for any professional purpose.

Spoiler

Balcony scene with Shiv and Tom going balls-deep thermonuclear mutually-assured destruktionne was superb. I was 65% sure Tom was going to throw himself over the balcony.

LOL@genius euroknob Matsson. His shirt is full of shit.

Ha.  Greg.  Nepotism at it's finest.

Just finished 1x7 and 1x8.  Shiv getting her comeuppances.  Some actual work being done was kind of refreshing, although extremely phony, as though there wouldn't be WAY more commotion by every staff member in the ATN building during election night, and the decision to call it made by a team of experts. lolz.  roll  An episode where I thought the events didn't play out as realistically as the rest of the series.  Needed Aaron Sorkin to write and direct that episode like The Newsroom.
