Still hooked on this thing.

Although I reckon if it wasn't for James Spader I wouldnt bother with the show at all.

I generally can't really tell when actors are "doing the acting" well or not but the main woman in this, the actor who plays "Elizabeth Keene", would have to be the worst actor in the entire goddamn solar system. She is distractingly shit, even to a drongo like me.

Re: The Blacklist - Renewed For Season 8

If you think she's the worst actress, you can't have watched any bad shows. She might not be perfect, but she's okay.

The season final, S7, E19 was a complete surprise (sort of, and sort of not).  I like the creative way they dealt with completing the episode haha.

Re: The Blacklist - Renewed For Season 8

It was a nice idea to get the season finale done given the (coronavirus) circumstances, but I found it a bit distracting... especially how different Reddington looked. And some minor audio issues. Ah well, it's just a TV show. smile

And it was a nice reminder to how production works, that everything is not filmed in the order it's shown.

Yeah, Red's mug did look a little weird lol. Overall, it was pretty rough around the edges in various places, and the transitions weren't all that good but hey, I get it... They get a pass from me because I believe it's the best they could've pulled off in the time they were allowed. Unless you're willing to wait until next year to finish off the final four episodes, this is the best we were ever going to get. Finding the right way to end a season prematurely can't be easy by any stretch, but I think the producers made the best of the situation with their balls-to-the-wall attempt at A Scanner Darkly. Here's hoping that next season will be much better as a whole. smile

I can't stand the Elizabeth Keen character.  It's such a turn off and stupid.

Well... some of the show's characters are less than perfect and not always 100% plausible.

But I still enjoy the show (albeit recently a bit less than before). smile

I swear to god,

Spoiler

if Katarina "comes back to life" again

I am done. Not even James Spader can save this thing.

I said this from the very beginning of this show. For some reason, the producers of this show feel the Elisabeth character is important. Most times I would say it is all about the writing, but besides the writing, what made this a good show was left on the table after the first season. For a while, this show was a bit like "Better Call Saul", (which I enjoy).

Well, it is... because that's how the show was written. cool

I get the feeling James Spader has given up trying. He's on auto-pilot now, has been for at least a couple of seasons. I watch it more out of habit than genuine interest these days. A shame, the early seasons were great (& Spader was electric).

Re: The Blacklist - Renewed For Season 8

Well, instead of making her into this demented, toxic, twisted character, if they'd just have created blacklister cases for the team to work on I'd probably be a happy camper.  But not the direction they went in unfortunately.

There's no redeeming this and they took what could have been good, promising, and made it into everything I detest.

I can't be done.  Though I hate with a passion what it's all about right now I have to see what happens next.  I want to hope something good will happen and things will turn around for the better but I won't hold my breath.

Yeah, me too. When you have been watching something for years it feels like the only thing you can do is ride flaaming wreckage all the way down untol it impacts the ground.

Re: The Blacklist - Renewed For Season 8

I just want to throw this wild prediction out there - Redington is Elizabeth's mother. That's the big mystery of the entire show and the only thing that makes sense at this point.

Ain't gonna have your first drink be no damn Peach Schnapps.

I thought the same thing a few seasons back. Could be worth a giggle.

Kinda makes sense. Not sure about the Dom part

Re: The Blacklist - Renewed For Season 8

If I recall correctly, didn't  they already confirm that

Spoiler

Reddington and Keene are not related via a DNA test?

Although I suppose that having script writers that seem to like to repeatedly

Spoiler

bring dead people back to life

I guess that wouldn't  be a major issue.

I only recall that "it was complicated" and am too lazy/ not interested enough to google it. big_smile
