Lol Marco ur lil too defensive when it comes to "a frickin' kid's show!"

I see it more as being defensive of my conclusions, explanations, and arguments, rather than the episode itself.

I agree, it wasn't a good episode, but it was very much on par with the standard of the show. There are so many worse shows / episodes out there. The episode might be a letdown when it comes to Who (especially in the context of the last two stellar seasons), but "pure crap in every aspect" looks nothing like this episode

If my thoughts and conclusions about the episode aren't logical to you, that is fine. I would think that logic and reason are universal, but alright, maybe they aren't logical to you. But claiming that "[my explanations] ignore things that was said and showed in the episode" isn't helping your case either. Either you care enough about this argument to actually cite some examples from the episode - as I have done in my first post, at least - or you don't and you are just hiding behind vapid statements like "[I - meaning me] didnt watch the episode or forgot most of it."

I presented my counter-arguments and you responded with another broad, unsubstantiated claim. You are perfectly within your rights to hang on to your thoughts and feelings about the episode, thinking it is bad, etc., but you cannot claim my reasoning above is faulty or incorrect without evidence. If you believe that any of my thoughts outlined above are disproven by what was said or done in the episode, prove it.

Please do not say your explanations of what could have happened are logical. They might be logical to you but when they ignore things that was said and showed in the episode i think that doesnt hold up anymore. The episode set certain premisses and if it is to be logical you cant break them.

I like the first half of this episode. The only bother for me was how it was when they got teleported on board. Personally i think rant from marco made him look like an idiot.

Who said anything about urgency? You get injured, no matter how serious, you get beamed on-board. The hologram acted the same way whether it was a cut finger or a drowning man, no rush, just doing its job. Again, I think the main difference between the Doctor and his companions getting aboard and everybody previously is their state of injury (they were awake, lucid, and mobile) and their state of mind.

It stands to reason that the hologram works as a doctor so unless you are unconscious or need to be restrained, it heals you just like our doctors do - you walk into the infirmary, it does its "magic," you are healed, you walk out and continue doing your job on the ship. It makes no sense whatsoever to strip down, knock out, and constrain every patient that needs healing, no matter how small the injury.

I suspect that Rory was on the bed because he was unconscious when he was beamed it. The rest of the crew I would assume started panicking and were hysterical - 16th century sailors in a futuristic ship like that, no wonder - and thus had to be restrained. All rather logical, I think.

I really don't understand what the point of contention is - we are arguing stupid elements and supposed "logic flaws" from a kid's show. As I've said before, there is a logical explanation that works within the rules that the episode set. They just weren't clearly spelled out, mostly for time constraint reasons.

My personal view on it was that if it was so urgent for them to be teleported on board then why where they just left alone to wonder the ship afterwards? Also the hologram seemed to have no interest about "saving" them once they were on board. It would have been the same urgency once they were onboard to get them healed up.

I think it was a good episode and Matt Smith was as good as ever.

I like how the doctor lies all the time. They have really been pushing that for the last 4-5 seasons. Makes me curious if it was the same in the old series and if so why do people still take his words as absolute truths when they nag on us that he lies all the time? If he says he got 12 regenerations it is more likely to be a lie that fitted at that time than being a fact. I got a feeling they might have added this lie thing to be able to undo things the Doctor might have said during the old series and in season 1 of the current series.

You know, sometimes the pickup truck driving in the back, out of focus, past the Shire o the guy in jeans treating the horses of the Roman legion is not really a problem.

I think it's fair to criticizes this episode for all it's faults when you also praise an episodes as highly as we were for the first two, it all balance out the good and the bad usually. At the end of the year will probably just look back at this episode like we do for Fear Her in season 2, a decent idea that just wasn't executed properly.

First off, let's put the blame where it belongs: the fate of the last pirate was clearly dropped during editing for (I assume) time reasons. It had absolutely nothing to do with the writer. And yes, I agree, it was kind of a big omission. However, the little kid cut him, so it stands to reason he was taken by siren at some point. If your episode is running long and you have to cut something, that is a good candidate: it is yet another "death by siren" (we've seen several at that point, do we need to see one more, more of the same?) and the audience is capable of deducing what happened to him pretty easily. If he'd run out after the other traitor you would jump to the same conclusion, so stop being so anal-retentive about it

Uhm, how do you know there was no reflection? They hid below decks and made sure there were no reflecting surfaces there, but above decks there are presumably several reflecting surfaces like lanterns, windows, and polished metal objects. Also it is raining and while they did claim that the surface had to be still, I bet even the wet polished wood or puddles of water could reflect enough for the siren to appear. (And if you really want to push it and ask why they had to open the barrel for her to save Rory - which btw. wouldn't be a still reflection because of the rain so she couldn't appear - maybe because it just started raining there weren't enough puddles yet.)

Why do you assume the medical hologram "beams" all of its patients directly into the beds and ties them down? All its patients were stripped down from the waist up so I assume that after the patients get beamed on board they go through an initial checkup where they get changed, etc. If it makes you feel better you can imagine another hologram or a little band of robots does that and because our three remaining heroes weren't unconscious and got up and started walking around immediately, the robots didn't have time to get to them ...

Is it really that hard for you to suspend your disbelief? Sure, you can nitpick and destroy any piece of fiction. If you want to bitch about something, go ahead, but first learn the writer's name (it's Steve Thompson btw.), second blame him for stuff that is his fault (which is really hard to say nowadays with writers' rooms and the whole production process that happens after the writers have done their job), and third stop being so anal-retentive about a frickin' kid's show!

Was this a flawless episode? Hell no, but it's flaws weren't the things you point out and in any case it was very much on par with the production quality of all Doctor Who episodes since the show's revival in 2005.

I know how you feel, matt smith is the only doctor i have actually liked. It sucks how he gets flamed for the failings of the writters and producers.

Then when they get to the space ship they arnt tied down to a bed like everyone else.
