The original comic was more about the survivors and their relationships with each other than zombies.

But who knows, they've deviated from the original works well enough to keep the show interesting for me.

I bet we'll see more than enough zombie-slaying once the first horde stumbles along.

yep, I also hate cheating, triangle dramas and whatever. I'll overlook it for now, but i just hope it doesn't drag on.

actually, I feel the same way usually...such characters really turn me off.

Yeah a 6-episode first season doesn't give much room to go very deep into certain subjects.

Just seen the last episode. It was OK and I guess I've stoped caring that it's moving away from the comic's storyline. As for the entire season, it felt rushed, especially their visit to the CDC. I hope that 13-episode second season will allow to set a decent pace.

Seeing as the renewal for a second season didn't come before after the show started airing (don't know when they stopped shooting the episodes), they probably wanted to give a halfway decent ending to the show if it didn't get renewed - but still having some hope that it would. I.e. the doctors muted whispers to Rick.

A good show though. It doesn't even need to have life-threatening zombies in every episode to be interesting.

This show is at its best when you don't read too much into it. I hope next season will have many action packed episodes, and fewer serious ones.

Yeah I know I love deep dialogue and a compelling storyline more than split-second shots done at an accurate detail. If it was a show about gunslingers, I wouldn't mind but this show obviously has other aspects that need focus.
