Lets hope we see some more of this.

They're at 2.75 million right now, and that only took like 2-3 days and still almost a month to go... I wouldn't be shocked if they manage to hit 15 million. Also, I think it was already essentially confirmed that the main cast would be working for pretty much peanuts.. anyways, very cool to see actually working!

2 Million for an entire movie? That sounds like a budget for a tv episode nowadays.

Not counting promotion and distribution, because Warner Bros has agreed to finance that. Besides the money keeps coming and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended with 3 or even 4 million.

While I did enjoy the show, I don't have the time to watch it all again just to watch a 1.5hour movie that will be mediocre.

How do you know it will be mediocre? The actors from the show aren't doing this for the money so it's not like most of the funds will be spent on their salaries. Besides Veronica Mars was a terrific show from the start right to the very end.

PS. They probably didn't expect such popularity, because almost all rewards for spending more than $1000 were almost immediately reserved.
