Lloyd and Simon were not awake during the 2 mins as they both also had flashforwards. Simon was killing someone in his and lloyd was with the FBI guys wife.
The people we saw awake are others, one of them most likely the hacker dude who blew up the warehouse and someone else he's working with.

The guy who is working with the people having 3 stars tattooed on the arm. The one who collect the othe 7 rings with the sign beta. I suppose the guy from Hong Kong is among the good guys. His involvement deliberately at the beginning was together with the CIA. He is seeking protection.

No, I don't hate and yes, I do watch it. But the only reason I do is because the big ideas are intriguing. The show itself is IMHO mediocre.

"give it some time to develop"... i'm so sick of seeing this as a cop out for shows that just plain suck... been rewatching Farscape lately... that puppy hit the ground running and never looked back... if someone has a vision you are guaranteed goodness.... when the studios try to fill a void [like the huge one looming with Lost AND Supernatural ending], or cater to a demographic you can pretty much guarantee it's going to suck... ie SGU, FlashForward... meh...

Yes, Farscape hit the ground running and never looked back ... and it also struggled with weak ratings for the whole duration of its run until it was unceremoniously canned at the end of season 4. While I agree with your general idea and I hate the meddling of TV studios (see Dollhouse), the fact is that the alternative to demographics are a lot of canceled shows and the inevitable conclusion that most of the US audience (this isn't anti-American, but the US audience is the only thing that matters in this case) is dumb as breadsticks. An because nobody wants to admit to the second fact, because it would mean the end of intelligent programming in the US, we all agree on diluting the "guaranteed goodness" with things like demographic research and trends to keep shows alive. And that of course leads to weak starts of shows to "find and audience" and once you have it you can bring on the goodness. Goodness by itself just isn't enough to attract an audience nowadays.

I am not saying that I WANT to kill it. It's just, that if rating and quality drops so badly like with FF (12.47 -> 7.07 in 10 eps), network will think twice before renewing it.

And of course, there's still the second half of the season, which might be better (Dollhouse also started poorly).

i don't know much about the many-worlds interpretation, but it was brought up by simon in an episode.
and in a way, it would make sense. if they saw one possible future, it would avoid the problem with 'changing the future'. the book anathem (which i recommend) deals with many-worlds in a good way, so it can be done well.
but it doesn't explain why they saw a future and not an alternate "now".

When Lloyd said he'd met his wife at the next door building of his Harvard campus, and Olivia said that she'd almost gone to Harvard and would've been at the same building that Lloyd's wife was, that is when I started suspecting the alternative timeline thingy...

They didn't see the future of this timeline, they saw the future of another timeline where Olivia had gone to Harvard and had met Lloyd, eventually they had married. Only glitch in my theory is is how is it possible for Olivia and Mark's daughter to be there with them if she had gone and married the other guy.

It would also explain why Mark was drinking again... he had shot Demetri. And it gives them a chance to fuck up their future when they are trying to avoid the future of a different timeline that wouldn't even happen to them.
