I am glad we got the prequel series. In some ways, I like it better than the original one.  I suppose my gripe is part of an overall sensitivity I am acquiring regarding shows that jump all over the place in time.  There are lots of them these days.

Tom Hopper is absolutely stealing the show here (not saying the other performances weren't great as well)

The struggle in the region has been going on for a long time, didn't feel forced (to make it seem current) to me.

This becomes more and more an issure for me with shows like this. That they try to stay as current as possible with political situations and basically "milk them for content".

Sure making up fake countries like in Superman (2025) feels weird all the same, especially if they resemble existing countries. But am I wrong to think a couple of years ago this was a lot more different?

Not that the show / episodes aren't good - but this really puts me off.
