In its peak this was an amazing show....its lows were abysmal though...I mean, weren't there seasons without Mulder and Scully towards the end, and the "recent" revival episodes were horrible!

I only had the dvds up to season 3 and the film. Though 11 seasons too much for me for what was really an anthology show

Or body cameras. First models for law enforcement came out in 2000. California started putting them on police in 2008. Given the nature of the cases Mulder & Scully took I always thought Mulder would have one even if he paid for it out of pocket. Today I can't imagine being ANY kind of first responder, officer, agent without one. Heck if I was a teacher or any public sector job supervisor or higher I'd have one if only to avoid the possibility of a student/coworker making false claims: The world's just gotten that way.

Well, they literally made some new episodes from 2016 to 2018. It being impossible to fully hide the truth and drowning it out with nonsense (like actually or partially wrong conspiracy theories) instead has always been part of the backplot. They just leaned into it more heavily.

Seasons 10 and 11 ran between 2016 and 2018. They had smart phones then. Can't remember any of the episodes but they can and did make it "today".

Not necessarily. People take photos of weird stuff all the every day nowadays and people cry "Photoshopped!" or something.

I was a fan of the X Files and watched it from the start (from the begging while it ran on TV in what, 1992?) but it really lost it towards the end of its run. When it was good it was really good though.

I have started watching these again. But I need to get hold of some the dvds. One thing that struck me this series could never be made today. Why you say? SMARTPHONES. All the times Mulder sees some thing it would be snap snap. And the unconvinced authorities would have to take him seriously. And Skully would be out of a job. Eg the X files film.

In Mulders time cameras were large, heavyand no one carried one around. Any remake would lack the alien dimension?
