That’s pretty soon considering there hasn’t even been a trailer or poster. This release is very very odd

I can only assume that is a mistake on imdb since it says

S2, E5 - Death raking   -   So, 26. Apr. 2026

I doubt that they are going to start with Season 2, Episode 5

I don't care enough to google the legal details, but I guess that either they convinced the creator with a big pile of money, which would be quite funny, or he had signed away the rights previously and Netflix could just do what they wanted to do without asking.

Speculations for an U.S. version are already circling around and honestly, this could be a very good continuation for the show (not a remake!). With this kind of foundation it should be an easy adaption.

Imagine they freshen it up a bit, and Jigsaw introduces himself to the players... "I want to play a game."

God, I hope they DON'T make a US version (but they will because $$$$$) cuz they will ruin it with romantic drama, or some such nonsense.

True, there are some horrific US remakes of great foreign shows...  but assuming they do it well for once, I would be very happy. Since, somehow most Japanese, Korean and Chinese shows and movies do not work for me. I just can't stand a lot of the acting tuned for Asian audience like actors "eyes and mouth white open"->"surprise or shock", "wild gestures"->"I have an idea, let's move on", struggle with enjoying such shows with subtitles and also often don't like the cuts and viewing angles and general aesthetics (colors, contrast, backgrounds, scene design)

I couldn't even finish season 1 of Squid Game, since the visuals, acting, language etc just didn't work for me. While in general, I like the concept.

Btw, as German... most German shows and movies are also terrible for similar reasons

They "could" ruin it, I agree - but there is still some talent left in Hollywood

The ending was OK, proper final episode for the show.

Speculations for an U.S. version are already circling around and honestly, this could be a very good continuation for the show (not a remake!). With this kind of foundation it should be an easy adaption.

if you liked Season 2 you are going to like Season 3.
I think the episodes were OK, no real highs or lows though where I thought "damn" like I did with Season 1.
