Topic: 11/04/10 - TV News Weekly Review #26 - Jurassic Bark/Why We Fight
Last week I was AFK for most of the day, tried to do the review the next day, and, well, then decided to do a double news review. And now I'm writing these words with sadness, if you don't know why just go on to cnn or bbc. That is also why the title is from two very sad episodes (Futurama and Band of Brothers). I know that I used a BoB ep title before, but let's say that this is a special NR.
- Let's start with some good news, Mayim Bialik will have a recurrent role in The Big Bang Theory as Sheldon's possible girl. Bazinga.
- Do you like zombies? Then you'll love the new AMC show The Walking Dead. Personally I can't wait. (Second source)
- Burn Notice and Royal Pains return on June 3, but you probably already know that.
- This you probably also know, Castle will return with a third season. (YaY!)
- Now I'm sure that FlashFailure will be cancelled. Why, you ask? First of all, and the most important, a few members of the cast have already signed on to new TV pilots, that can premiere in the fall. Also, the ratings from the previous week were weak. Very weak, and this week it wasn't that better. Heeeelloooo "Cancel" land.
- Matt Damon will guest star in 30 Rock. (Scotty doesn't know, lalalala)
- Monica Breen and Alison Schapker, former Brothers & Sisters showrunners, join the family of Fringe as executive producers. Good, Bad? Ugly?
- The wonderful drama Damages has ratings problem. And a big one. But here comes DirectTV to the rescue!! (One more season, one more season, one more season...)
- If you wondered if Charlie Sheen is leaving Two and a Half Men - well...
- Hey, three cartoon guest stars in Family Guy! Hank Hill from King of the Hill and Stan and Francise Smith from American Dad! which makes it a first real crossover between these two Seth MacFarlane cartoons. YaY!
- The new great sitcom Sons of Tucson is cancelled after the first four episodes. The rest of the episodes will be burned out in June. (^#!#E^%^# FOX
- Paula Malcolmson (Caprica) will star in the third season of Sons of Anarchy. (But what about Caprica? )
- The new Jerry Seinfeld show The Marriage Ref already renewed for a second season. ...
- Today is the premiere of Treme, a drama about New Orleans after the zombie apoca... I mean hurricane Katrina. The show was in production for years and it stars John Goodman so everyone adds this show to their watchlist and watches it tommorow (for those who not live in North America). Yes?
- Mad Men will return sooner then you think - July that is. Summer is better then the fall, right? Right?
- Lauren Bowles joins the cast of True Blood. But isn't it already a bit late? (Source)
- Remeber that American Chopper is cancelled. Well, it is. And it isn't. Weird.
- Let's return to The Walking Dead for a moment. The lead zombie killer has been cast - Andrew Lincoln. Who?
- The show creator of Veronica Mars, Rob Thomas, says that the movie is ALIVE! ALIVE! Muahahahaha!
- Seth Gabel joins the cast of Fringe as... I won't tell.
- An interview with David Cross: "There's No Arrested Development Movie"
- Fox doing music-themed week (from April 29 to May 5). What shows? Fringe, House, Bones, The Simpsons, Family Guy and more. Whaaaaaaa?
- Tosh.0 renewed for a third season. (Hm, what?)
