santah, any chance you publish the 512x512px icon here once you've got the perfect one? I'm using Fluid to create a dedicated app of NE and I'd like to have the same icon on my Mac as I'll have on my iPhone.

Oh, nothing that special. Fluid just makes a desktop app out of any website. For instance I have made two, the NE one and a Facebook one for the misses. All it really does is it makes an app that opens the site in a dedicated browser-like window without the navigation bar, favorites or any other browser-specific stuff. I made them 'cause those two sites are always open and I like this I can have all my browser-tabs just for surfing.

I feel it's a bit bland. I liked the one Rivman did but in my opinion it might not be necessary to have the name in the icon. The name's going to be under the icon anyway.

I asked my friend who did my avatar to make an icon. I'll post it once he's done it.

Does the file have to be a PSD? Would any other filetype do?

Anything in vector (psd or ai ?) is good, I guess anything in raster (any format) as well if it's at least 512x512 smile

Nope, don't like any of those. The lack of colour just makes it confusing. Those of us who know the N-E logo as well as we do, recognise it, but anyone else will probably struggle to see wtf that is smile

The one with the orange icon makes it stand out a lot more, but surprisingly I actually agree with you that I don't like the logo used for the icon.

I like it!

If I was to be really really picky! Then the text should be a bit higher up, as it looks off centre at the moment. The border at the top of the TV looks thinner than on the left and right too. But they don't really matter, it's a good looking icon that grabs attention while portraying the professional approach you're looking for smile
