Topic: The Day Of The Triffids
To be honest it was not too bad. the first part was close to book, but part two drifted away a little too much. but in general i liked it.

Re: The Day Of The Triffidskiller plants are not dangerous no matter how much you try to hype them. Re: The Day Of The Triffidsthey made a series out of it? ok, on to me to watch list then asap Re: The Day Of The Triffidsz1rra have you read the book? very good one. Re: The Day Of The Triffidsi've read the book... a while back admittedly. but i couldn't take it seriously. i kept remembering that Lucio Fulci movie Zombie Death Eaters where everyone was being attacked by beings capable of moving at a staggering speed of 0. who cares, it's something new about the one of the best books i have ever read. ps. It's really interesting to look that only Estonians have read that book or cares to write about it here. Re: The Day Of The TriffidsWell i am not from Estonian, I have read the book and enjoyed the mini series :-) ... it is worth the DL. Re: The Day Of The Triffidsnivalis wrote:
it's a book about killer plants taking over the world, because most humans get blind. good read. and i was just making a remark because only we three had talked about that.. Re: The Day Of The Triffidsafrokiwi wrote:
well... lemme guess... you're from New Zealand and just living in Den Haag... Am I right? (I just thought of that since you have "kiwi" in your Nick and Sheep as your Avatar... And I know the Admin of a site who is from NZ and is constantly made fun of (in a good way) about these 2 things ) So am I right? ontopic: never heard of book or mini-series. Estonians rule!!! Re: The Day Of The TriffidsThe book was awesome, its actually fairly famous, written by John Wyndham i think? i had to study it in school. I really liked the book, and I am going to Dl the series on I player in a bit Re: The Day Of The Triffidsi'm at 48 min right now and for know i love the atmosphere, it really gives that end of the world feeling. and one fun part. nice thing to say too blind person: "i just will look around". Re: The Day Of The TriffidsIt seemed interesting at first, but most of the character development was REALLY rushed, along with pretty much everything in the second part. They could've stretched it out into 4 eps of 60 mins each and focused more on the details, but I guess they didn't have the budget or whatnot to do that. Overall, it was an ok mini-series, but I wouldn't watch it again 14 2009-12-30 23:33:52 (edited by kaibren 2009-12-30 23:37:44)Re: The Day Of The Triffidsi liked it. but still there are points what makes me wanna read the book again, because it was better. but the head of triffid was still superb, just like in the mini series. only better
So mostly i liked all parts in that miniseries except not enough triffids action mask thing was off but i can deal with that. conclusion: day of the triffids book on to my todo list. and yes, it was short.. a lot of good stuff was out. there would have been room for a lot more triffid action. and did i mention more triffid action?
