Topic: The Last Ship
aka Michael Bay: The TV Series It's exactly what I expected - dumb action show for the MB fans. The plot is silly, acting is mostly bad (Eric Dane is horrible as the ship's CO) and it doesn't help that Adam Baldwin is part of the cast. I lost faith after the Not for me. Anyway... back to waiting for The Strain's premiere. Should be much much better.

Re: The Last Ship
While i thought that some things were a bit too patriotic, some cgi was ok others not so good and some situations were a bit exegerated or ridiculous even but atleast i wasn't bored, that's why i'm gonna check out the next ep to see where it goes from here.

Re: The Last Ship
I did get a little worried when it started that it would be yet another "MERICA....FXXK YEAH" type show, and while there is a hint of it there, it wasn't too over the top. It does have me interested in where its going to go so I give it a few more episodes.

Re: The Last Ship
Sorry to say, but this was rather boring, with none interesting characters. Even Helix was much better...

Re: The Last Ship
Not that bad but there's a "Last Resort" v2.0 vibe to it. Predicting a quick fall.
Myka : You slept with her didn't you ? Pete : Well... you... you told me to investigate ok ? So... she's unarmed.

Looks like you were wrong 'The Last Ship' has become this summer's top drama among key adult demos with its epic scale and visceral storytelling.

Re: The Last Ship
Its terrible. I know you have to have a little suspension of belief for the drama but so many of the decisions they make are DUMB. These are supposedly highly trained military personel that are not only making decisions that go against any tactical nous but against the common sense of a 14 year old thats played COD maybe 4 or 5 times. I couldnt watch in the end.

Dumb is more entertaining and entertainment is the name of the game.

Indeed... as I was comparing it to Last Resort, I was pessimist. But it is a bit better.

Re: The Last Ship
This show has become my guilty pleasure....I know I probably shouldn't like it but something about it just works for me.....apparently its the highest rated scripted drama for 25-52 yr olds!

I gave up on Last Resort and find Last Ship staying on my watch list, for now.

It is on mine too. The other newer additions to my watchlist have mostly been dropped.

Re: The Last Ship
Same. They are not making the same mistakes (plot and characters). Good enough for me.

Re: The Last Ship
It is alright, not great, but alright. Still too "US patriotic", but it is bearable.

Re: The Last Ship
Man this is a GREAT series!! I'm so emotionally invested in all the characters and it keeps getting better with each passing season. Yeah, its very 'American', but its also well made with a solid premise, great writing, suspenseful, full of twists, and full of engaging action; occasionally foraying into 'thriller' territory with its non-physical conflicts. This season has ratcheted up all the stakes and has made this the most exciting show on TV at the moment. Round of applause to everyone involved in making this as entertaining as it can possibly get. Man, this season was INTENSE!!

Re: The Last Ship
Indeed, being able to improve from season to season is difficult. Not that a lot of movie people are behind creating this show, which seems to help.

Re: The Last Ship
Agreed. it fills the hole nicely that has been empty in my life since 24, Strike Back, and Banshee have gone.
