Topic: New Look
Hey All, I noticed after the new update to the site that the days shows disappeared. Now, only the shows I subscribe to shows up. I want to be able to see the days list as well, like we were able to before. Is there a setting that I missed somewhere? Please Help

Re: New Look
Go to settings and then toggle the setting that says you want to have shows other than your shows on the homepage. Cheers!

Re: New Look
Chose this thread because couldnt be bothered creating a new one... but for some reason, the feed at the bottom of my pages which shows all the active threads has lost the 'last updated' date tag. Any reason for this and can you bring it back please?

Re: New Look
I thought it was very demoralizing to see "2 days ago" for the most recent activity, and more than a week ago for the 10th most recent, so instead of removing the forums altogether from the homepage - removed only this part. I think this will help make the forum a bit more active.

I don't really understand your logic here. By removing the date when a topic was last updated, you think it will make the topic more lively? Surely if people want to post something, they will post. I used to use the date to see when something had been replied to. Now I feel a bit mislead and cheated. Sometimes forums are quiet and sometimes they are lively. That's life. By taking the dates off it's like you want people to think the forums are more popular than they are, and I for one don't like that at all.

Totally agree and totally second that. Please bring back the last updated tag.

Re: New Look
It'll stay that way for now. I agree with you guys, but it's either that or I would remove the forums completely from the homepage (which can happen eventually anyway).

Would you mind telling us why? One of the things I like about this site is that it evolves but in a way that seems to be driven by its users, not the mods. Or at least us users are asked if we like a change before it happens. Please don't tell me that you'll take the forums off of the home page but let premium users have the option to put them back. I really don't want to site to turn into something only people that pay are happy with.

Re: New Look
Because something that is not very active and is rarely used by a tiny percentage of the userbase does not deserve such a prominent place on everyone's homepage.

Re: New Look
we could bookmark this page for seeing the activity: http://forum.next-episode.net/search.ph … how_recent i know that it's bad alternative, because it will cut site and forum into more separate beings. I only use the main site for looking what kind of shows are currently running, so i guess for me it isn't as big of a deal to move focus to the forum from the site itself.

Santah, the ONLY reason I'm ever active or responsive in the forum/threads is because of the "Latest topics from the forums" subtitle. If you remove it, ill most likely never use the forum unless I need something or have a specific question. Furthermore, by removing the 'last updated' I never actually know which threads are active (or most active - which can be a drive to getting involved in a discussion) or which of my posts have been responded to and when. I really implore that you restore the "Latest topics from the forums" back to how it was originally and dont remove it from the homepage.

Re: New Look
Please reconsider taking the latest forum topics off the main site. Even though I rarely post I read most of the posts in the forums and the front page is the way I check for them. This is the main reason N-E has been my home page for nearly a decade now. I know the forum hasn't been active recently, but I still keep checking the site every few hours and having the post times really helps with it. If possible it would be good to have them as a setting and/or maybe a setting for the threads themselves on the front pages.

Re: New Look
Totally disagree with that method - I simply won't access the forum if i have to start browsing. Which I know may not seem like a big deal, but hey, if it aint broken, why fix it? Especially when two log ins are required for both forum and site wide.

Re: New Look
I agree with nightcrow and toidol, the only reason I visit the forums is because I can see a new post has been created, or to see if any admin functions need doing.

Re: New Look
I also miss the datestamp. At the very least it is annoying and makes the forums less useful (or, rather, more of a hassle to use).

Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

No thanks. I just want to use the link to the homepage that I've always done, where I see the shows that were on last night and what's tomorrow, and which of the forum posts have been updated recently at the bottom. I don't use more than one bookmark or link for any other site and I don't see why I should for ne.net. I wouldn't mind that much if we the users are asked if we want to keep it how it is, or at least if it is removed by default have the option to restore it in our user settings - but please don't make that facility only available to premium users.

Re: New Look
I have a calendar on my desktop that gets the info for shows on n-e calendar, and I have links for the main site (that I hardly use), episodes, calendar and the forums. All neatly in a folder on my bookmarks toolbar. But hey, whatever rocks your boat.

Re: New Look
Before I removed the "time ago", the top most recent post was "2 days ago" and the bottom one was week and a half old. This is the situation a few days after removing "time ago", http://i.imgur.com/meFID36.png and it changed drastically even the very next day. So, again - guys, I know "time ago" is useful. That's why I've put it there in the first place. I really believe it helps kill the forums right now though. @graybags - what's with the constant whining about premium membership. You're almost pushing me to make this available to premium just to mess with you.

My constant whining? Keep insulting your visitors like that and see how much your forums are visited then.

@Santah I know you have your reasons for taking it off but given the comments here please re-consider. I would like to see the last updated back too please.

Re: New Look
It's nothing more than a way to hide the fact that the n-e community is dying. Gee I wonder why. This is going to be my last post here as well. Goodbye, it's been really nice talking to other tv fans (sometimes in less polite ways ), but it's time to move on.

Re: New Look
The community is fine. People moved from chats and forums to twitter and facebook. It's unfortunate, but that's reality.
