Topic: Silicon Valley
Silicon Valley
In the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. A comedy partially inspired by Mike Judge's own experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the late 1980s. ------ Being a programmer I love seeing a show like this. I also enjoyed Betas (cancelled, though?), but I'm hopeful this will be better since it's a HBO show.

Re: Silicon Valley
Anybody watching this. Gave this show a two ep try and must say - not bad. Well definitely far from great, but has some light ironic humor. If it takes up a notch it's a keeper if it stays this way it's too much fast food show for me.

Re: Silicon Valley
I absolutely love this! I was so sad when Betas ended (which is pretty similar to this), but HBO managed to make an even funnier version - and it's already renewed for second season.

Re: Silicon Valley
I'm not into it, it's 100% geek, I agree, but after two episodes I didn't care about anything/anyone and wasn't really entertained, yet alone funny.

Re: Silicon Valley
One and a half episode and I was out. Two slow paced for me.
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

Re: Silicon Valley
I had high hopes for this show, but it disappointed me greatly I don't like any of the characters, not even the main character, and that is sad. And I really hate the junkie house owner, worst piece of s#¤t character ever made. It's not even funny! I love geeky series and characters, but this was just a snore fest for me. Tempted to test yet another episode since I do like the idea of the show, maybe it can grow on me.

Re: Silicon Valley
Great episode today. I also love the fact they have done their research for this show, using tools like Jenkins, frameworks like Rails, that they use Scrum.

Re: Silicon Valley
Great episode (1x08) again. The conference and the team scenes were great! A very good season wrap Too bad I learned that Christopher Evan Welch - who played Peter Gregory - died already in December 2013 Let's see how the script adapts for season two.

Re: Silicon Valley
Show is great. The wanking theory was great, haven't laughed this hard at a show in ages. Definitely keeping this on. Though I do agree the first 2-3 episodes were a bit offputting. Sorry to hear about the rich weird billionaire though. His disappointment sounds were hilarious.

Shame? I'm jealous of you, getting to watch them all from fresh! I marathoned it a few weeks ago, probably my favourite currently running comedy.

Re: Silicon Valley
Just saw this old thread. Yeah, great show, and many of the jokes are even better when you have some coding/ startup/ venture capital knowledge. I hope there will be more seasons!

Apparently it is being renewed for a sixth and possibly final season, however shooting will not begin until this summer so it probably will not appear until 2020.

Re: Silicon Valley
I hope they bring it to a good ending. From showrunners Mike Judge and Alec Berg: Silicon Valley has been a career and life highlight for us. We’ll miss it desperately, but we’ve always let Pied Piper’s journey guide the way, and Season 6 seems to be the fitting conclusion. We are forever indebted to our incredible cast, crew, and partners at HBO. At a certain point, there’s only so much we can do to make the world a better place.

I have watched "The West Wing" about 3 or 4 times.

Re: Silicon Valley
Well, if you think that's crazy, I've cycled through all of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT three times already. I've also watched all eight seasons of 24 three times (24: LAD twice) since 2016.
