Re: New Star TrekAs long as its better than enterprise and deep space nine.... Re: New Star TrekI'm sure people did but I didnt....it was too much like Eastenders in Space for me. I actually quite liked Enterprise, didn't like Deep Space 9 though. Re: New Star TrekEnterprise finally got its act together (with a new show runner) in its last season but it was too late. That last season was very good. Re: New Star Trekabout bloody time!!!! Re: New Star TrekI actually enjoyed all four seasons of Enterprise, especially the 3rd and 4th seasons; loved DS9 as well. I still get hammered by diehard trekkies in regards to Enterprise, and liking the new movies, to this day lol. I guarantee sometime in 2017 they'll be glued to the tube for the premiere. Comments from the above link are kinda funny too... Aiwaz418 wrote:

I grew up watching TOS, I had TNG recorded on VHS to watch over annd over, and have watched DS9 start to finish many times and still rewatch it on occasion. I've seen all the Voyager episodes a couple times over the years but don't find it appealing to watch now. Enterprise lost me somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd season. I tried to pick it back up but just couldn't stay into it - its just really hard to do a prequel in scifi environment. Look at Caprica as an example. I eventually deleted it off my hard drive. I will watch a new show. The one encouraging detail is that it will not be a regularly broadcast show, but instead reserved for streaming. If it was to be a broadcast show, it would have be to changed to appeal to a broader audience. Appealing to broader audiences is what makes most of the Star Trek movies horrible. 11 2015-12-22 03:29:35 (edited by scorpius074 2015-12-29 02:29:15)Re: New Star Trekcwsqbm wrote:
You hit the nail on the head m8 and this is exactly why I have real high expectations for the new series. Some of the old traditional Trek fans are stuck in their ways, and in some regards are afraid of change, but I guarantee most of them will tune in to check it out at the very least. P.S.: In all honesty I thought Caprica had potential. Afterall it was a spin-off prequel that took place 58 years before the annihilation of the twelve colonies of Kobol. I was very much looking forward to a BSG prequel that would show us how humanity first created the Cylons, and the events that lead them to later turn against their human masters. I found it interesting that Caprica was grounded in urban locales rather than in space, and focused on corporate, political, and personal intrigue with wealth and the troubled relationship between the two families at its center. Not to mention that those of us that watched the final episode saw a glimpse of what the second season had in stored for us. Those that watched the WEB-DL got to see the season 2 trailer and most would say that it looked pretty damn awesome. Calling that salt in the wound would be a drastic understatement. Re: New Star TrekAgree on Caprica. At least they got to do a decent series finale (a season 2 compressed into one ep). 13 2016-05-19 22:07:47 (edited by h3ctic 2016-05-19 22:08:11)Re: New Star TrekRe: New Star Trekh3ctic wrote: Well that showed us nothing. There is nothing worse than a show full of teenage kids and all their dumb teenage angst problems. Teenagers - nobody gives a crap about that stuff...imo they should lock all people up from the ages of about 9 until around 30ish and keep them off the streets and completely unseen, until they are over all that rubbish. Hopefully they will bring back the "instant arena" fight scenes with that awesome drumming cheesy fight music, and a romance on every planet for the new Kirk complete with sparkly misting on the females' faces to make them look more enticing. Those two things were the true spirit of the original Star Trek after all. Except now we should make the New Kirk bisexual and sparklemist the face of the male love interest as well. It just won't be Star Trek until these two things happen on every planet. *oh and at least one Ensign Ricky must beam down and die each episode as well.
