Topic: Ash vs. Evil Dead
Ash vs. Evil Dead The Evil Dead franchise is revived for a 10-episode series where Ash (Bruce Campbell), the survivor from the trilogy of movies, is called back to duty. The Deadites, demonic creatures from beyond, plan to destroy all of mankind and only an aging stockboy with a chainsaw for a hand can stop them... even if he doesn't want to.
I'm not a big fan of horror but this looks amazing. Bruce Campbell ftw. https://next-episode.net/ash-vs.-evil-dead/trailer

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
I wouldn't really call it a horror, more of a comedy. Also, I didn't know there were a "trilogy of movies", I have only seen one.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
There's also an Evil Dead remake which is good, but irrelevant in this case.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
"Sam Raimi will direct the pilot, which will be co-written by himself, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy. Bruce Campbell is confirmed to be returning to star in the series as the Deadite slaying Ash, his most beloved character." So Raimi is only involved in the first episode

He's also an executive producer, so he's still involved in the creative production. And the pilot was amazingly fun. Want more.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
Great pilot. I was slightly worried after the first 10-15 minutes that it wouldn't live up to my expectations, but after that it was good old Evil Dead.

Loved it. Makes me so happy to see him back in the saddle again. Feels like I haven't seen Bruce Campbell in anything since Bubba Ho Tep, and Spiderman cameos, though his IMDB page has tons of credits for him. Just stuff that I missed over the years I guess.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
Episode 2 was awesome! I was worried because for some reason I didn't really like the pilot, I don't know what was different but I laughed the whole way through the second episode.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
it was damn good fun. damn good. was great to see Raimi having fun with it. however, this and a recent regular viewing of ED2 and Army brought up the trauma that still haven't seen all the way through the original TED, i had a "can't watch this anymore" moment with it when i was a kid, scared the life out of me, i still can't get past that same point as an adult...

Special effects are getting better too, looks like they're starting to seriously invest effort in this.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
I dunno if I'm just getting more immature as I age or what, but the utter depravity and disgusting vulgarity of this episode (s02e02) had me laughing so hard

It's a fun show, you can see they're all having a good time fooling around on it.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
That scene with the car wheel and the bloke's face... If that wasn't too far, it was waaaaaaaay too close.

Re: Ash vs. Evil Dead
I think if the show was slightly less gory it might be offensive. As it is, the thing is so over the top it has transitioned from offensive to funny.
