I'm pretty sure there won't be a second season. The ending was meant to be a mirror of what Ethan saw when he first came to Wayward Pines. Hence the title of the episode is called Cycle.. as in the cycle continues.

Has anyone watched the companion web series?
...where did I put that rat's ass I could give?
Daemons are benevolent or benign nature spirits, beings of the same nature as both mortals and gods, similar to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, forces of nature or the gods themselves.

So since the season has finished, I started watching them last night and I am now 5 episodes in. I am really liking it, I have never seen Twin Peeks so guess its a show I should check out after reading some of the comments on here

OK, but it's nothing like Twin Peaks, which I've watched over and over as it's in my top 5 TV shows of all time. I'd be interested in what you think if and when you watch Twin Peaks. I've only watched 4 eps of WP so far, and to me it's all about the town vs him, and everyone is in on the secret together, which is totally not what Twin Peaks is about at all. WP just feels like a TV show inspired by Silent Hill.
2020. Meh.

The very first episode in its initial moments had that vibe (that creepy and surreal film noir feeling), just all the later actors came in and changed the vibe up - the ex gf/affair providing a lame ex gf vibe; the wife coming in and providing a lame family drama vibe, and the son with the lame teenage romance/high school scene vibe. But the very first episode did have the beginnings of a Twin Peaks feel, which I suspect is why people anywhere might have mentioned its name. I don't think it was just about the trees.

Like I said later, I actually hope they don't bring it back despite its open ending - ▼Spoiler because with all the adults having been magically killed off even though they had a whole underground complex and a bunch of guns at their disposal - it's only been left open as some kind of teen horror/sci fi/high school teen romance drama, and we don't need any more of those.

Don't worry about it, ▼Spoiler don't think I'm going to watch them now since I know the ending, seems a waste of time and especially with the talk of no season 2 Just think a spoiler for a show today could still be a spoiler for someone in 10 years time if they are watching the show for the first time, its just how we have these forums

Yeah, looks like most of my posts will end up behind spoiler tags, I like to talk about things that happened and things that might happen in detail :3 Honestly ▼Spoiler most of everything past the first episode was a bit of a letdown. Series started off great and went steadily downhill from its epic beginnings. You won't miss much. This review I just found is one big spoiler (so don't click it unless you're okay with that) and pretty much sums up how I feel about the series as well ---> Wayward Pines SPOILER review

Re: Wayward Pines
You might find with some shows like http://forum.next-episode.net/viewforum.php?id=105 they have a post for each episode to discuss what happened in detail without spoiler tags. If a show has only the one post we tend like here to use the spoiler tag I just tried watching episode 6 but am sat here thinking what is the point I know the ending so dropping this now

Re: Wayward Pines
Well I apologised here in the thread, immediately fixed my post with spoiler tags, and sent an apology PM, not really sure what else I can do. Bear in mind of new here and didn't know the rules.

Aw, don't drop the show just because of that. Especially since what was written isn't even accurate. ▼Spoiler The adults weren't killed at all - there were a few casualties along the way which is to be expected, but the adults in the bunker were not killed if you listen to what Amy says in the end. Though it was not what I'd hoped, I actually found the ending rather interesting. And despite them originally stating that it would be a one season only show, there is actually talk of a possible season two now. So you never know.

Re: Wayward Pines
well the adults aren't dead if I understand correctly
▼Spoiler they are probably still frozen in the pods in the mountain complex though they changed the ending from the books quite a bit there, that one was more final and still open ended
▼Spoiler After they all know the truth and conquered the mountain and also learn that winters are getting longer each year which will make it harder to keep the food supply up and running, they decide to all go back into the stasis pods (including a not dead Ethan) and do another freeze sleep hoping for a better environment in the future ;-) and at the last page they awake in the year 4000 something ;-)

Re: Wayward Pines
@Mojito - As always, the books kept the tension on much better (at least to me) and was more creepy, but the ending was still pretty outrageous. I like that Hollywood went against their usual pattern and used actors *older* than the characters in the books (mostly). I like how Pam started out in the show, but wish they'd kept more of her book-self.

I hope they don't, it would revolve around and we don't need any more ▼Spoiler teenage horror sci fi romance high school angst shows, tons of them already. Wayward Pines was better before they introduced all the if only it had stayed at the power of that first episode.

Re: Wayward Pines
Really wanted to like this show, thought it had a lot of potential. In my opinion and to be crude I Think it shot its load too quick in the first season. It was a show that was advertised as mysterious 'Lost' like but gave you answers each week. the second season so far has been very poor. i'll be switching off soon.
