Topic: Bates Motel

Bates Motel serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film, Psycho, and promises to give viewers an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates’ psyche unravels through his teenage years.

Fans will have access to the dark, twisted backstory and learn first hand just how deeply intricate his relationship with his mother, Norma, truly is and how she helped forge the most famous serial killer of them all.

Pilot was enjoyable... mother-son relations are of course the main topic (apples would love this show wink), but the rest is also good. Question is - will they be able to keep it interesting throughout the entire season?

PS. Did you notice that Norman is a chick magnet? big_smile

Re: Bates Motel

Episode 2 was interesting as well... I like the brother storyline and the town they moved to is pretty messed up. smile

Not sure, I doubt it, as I only remember little bits of the movie.

The house and motel seem to be a good replica of the movie.

It's obviously set years before the movie too.

"city morgue, you kill em, we chill em"

Re: Bates Motel

and technically the 4th film is a prequel in itself as its filled with flashbacks on his childhood

Thanks, I'll check it out.

edit: He's a qt3.14 for sure. Some of the scenes seemed a bit contrived, but I'll keep watching it if the story is interesting. So far I'm curious, which is a good sign smile

Re: Bates Motel

So.. the women in Normans life at the moment,

The teacher, the flirtatious one, the interesting one, and the mother.
Just trying to arrange my thoughts here. Amorous reactions so far limited to the last one. Seemingly unanswered?
I bet this will change though.

Re: Bates Motel

Woah, that was a nice ending (ep 1x03). big_smile

Re: Bates Motel

That website was very interesting

Re: Bates Motel

My only concern is that they might make her too perfect. When it becomes too obvious she (the character) is engineered with extreme precision to be the perfect girlfriend, it breaks the mood a little. She read manga, wear twee outfits, is very cute, adventurous, adorable. And still, or maybe because of this, I have a bad feeling about what will happen eventually.

Re: Bates Motel

Yeah looking at what kinda show it is then it is likely that at some point things will go wrong. I dont know what direction they would take it in but it seems likely that something will happen.

But until that happens i will try to not worry to much about it as it will only make me sad

Re: Bates Motel

No no no no nonono everything is wrong! Why are they doing this? it should not have been bradely, it should have been emma, with the tubes and everything, adorably stopping to catch her breath all the time, the taxidermied animals watching, and when she coughs her abs and well also the muscles of her pelvic floor spasms in a way that... anyways, she's really his perfect match, why can't he see that? he's just a meanie to her. a meanie!!

edit: ok he's not just a meanie, he did go to her house to see her i guess. but still.

edit2: favourite scene from this ep
